Ellen DeGeneres sued for mocking woman's name on show
Ellen DeGeneres is facing a lawsuit over a joke she made on her show mocking a woman's name.

Coldwell Banker real estate agent Titi Pierce is suing DeGeneres for using a real estate sign with her name on it in a segment called "What's Wrong with These Ads... and These Signs" and pronouncing Pierce's name as "Titty" while displaying the Coldwell Banker sign, the New York Daily News reported.

"Prior to defendant's misdeeds, Ms. Pierce has been called only by her name 'Titi,' which, as grammar dictates, is pronounced 'TEE TEE,'" a lawsuit filed in a Georgia court last week said.

The suit went on to explain that the name Titi means "flower" in Nigerian.

The comedian mispronounced Pierce's name just after showing a sign that read "Nipple Convalescent Home."

"Titty Pierce, sounds like she might have spent some time in that nipple home, I don't know," DeGeneres told a laughing audience.

The suit claims the Georgia woman's personal cellphone number was displayed during the segment, after which she began getting harassing calls.

Pierce said she was on her way to a funeral when the DeGeneres segment aired and she began receiving the mocking cellphone calls, TMZ reported.

"The name-calling led to immediate ridicule and raucous laughter from the show's live and television audiences," Pierce's suit said.

She said she has suffered emotional distress and anger as a result of the joke.

Pierce, a Robins Air Force Base engineer from Warner Robins, Ga., is also suing Warner Bros., which produces the Ellen DeGeneres Show, legalmedia.com reported.

'Ghostbusters' stars go glam for Elle magazine covers
The stars of the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot are getting their own magazine covers for the July issue of Elle.

Kristin Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon appear glammed-up on their respective covers, which will hit newsstands June 21.

Comedian and actor Will Ferrell interviews former Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig in one the magazine's feature editorials. In the interview, Wiig recounted one of her first sketches on SNL. "I was scared that I was going to freeze or swear or pass out," she said.

Shoe designer Brian Atwood spoke with fellow designer and actress Melissa McCarthy for her editorial. She detailed how she creates believable characters, saying she gets "psychotically attached" to them. "I fight for them in probably the most annoying way," she said.

Interviewed by Ben Dickinson, Leslie Jones said she knew she would have her big break at some point. "I just knew that I was funny, and I knew that it was just a matter of time," she said. "I didn't know what was going to actually happen -- this is definitely way bigger than I thought -- but I knew there was no way I was going to be that funny and nobody was going to notice it."

Lastly, Kate McKinnon, who was interviewed by Lizzy Goodman, said she uses acting as a way to relate to others. "I came to a reckoning that [pretending to be other people] is in fact such a real, huge chunk of the way I communicate," she said. "I thought it was something I was putting on to disguise something else, but it's not."

Director Paul Feig's female-centric Ghostbusters reboot arrives in theaters July 15.

LOOSE LIPS:
"I cut my hair for a film and there is nothing more freeing then realizing your beauty exists from within. I am not my hair. I am not my weight. I am not my skin color. I am love, I want to be love with every interaction, with every decision I make for myself, with every failure and success."

Canceled 'Nashville' TV show may have new home
The country music drama Nashville that ABC cancelled after four seasons may have a new home.

Lionsgate Television is reported to be near a deal for a fifth season on Viacom-owned CMT, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

CMT is just one of the potential new homes for Nashville. Others mentioned include Hulu, Lifetime, Bravo and E!, as Lionsgate has remained firm on finding a home for the show's fifth season.

A formal announcement could come as soon as Wednesday during the CMT Awards.

Lionsgate and ABC Studios were confident enough that they would find the show a new home that they convinced ABC to air Nashville's cliffhanger ending, TVonline reported.

"We wouldn't take such a strong position to advocate for (the cliffhanger ending) if we didn't feel good about our chances moving forward," said Kevin Beggs, Lionsgate TV's chairman.

The series' last aired episode left the fate of the show's Juliette Barnes, played by Hayden Panettiere, in the air as the plane that was carrying the starlet lost radio contact. The show shot, but ultimately discarded, an alternative ending in which Juliette is alive and reunited with her estranged husband Avery.

"There's a little short-term pain but ultimately long-term gain because we intend and are quite focused and are in substantive and serious conversations with multiple buyers about continuing the show on another platform," Beggs said. "If we didn't feel that was going to happen, we might have gone a different way."
