Saturday, May 12, 2012Hello Everyone...
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I started listening to David Bowie recently. I was plowing through a few of his albums while in the car, and heard a familiar tune. It was Heroes, and the reason it resonated with me was because of all those times hearing the song growing up, as covered by the Wallflowers when they released it in 1998. I remember seeing the 98' movie, Godzilla, and this song appeared on the soundtrack. It differs from the Bowie version in subtle ways, mostly with the updated 90's distortion and fuller sound. Frontman Jakob Dylan (Bob Dylan's son) delivers this wistful crooning in much the same way as Bowie. I prefer this versions for more than just nostalgic reasons - it just seems more complete. Enjoy the music video.
