The search for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is over!
Rooney Mara has nabbed the coveted role of Lisbeth Salander in
the Hollywood adaptation of Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel.
Mara, who previously appeared in A Nightmare on Elm Street and
will next be seen in The Social Network with Justin Timberlake,
will star alongside Daniel Craig in the film set to be released
Dec. 21, 2011, Columbia Pictures announced Monday.
Robin Wright has reportedly been in talks to play Erika Berger,
the lover of Craig's character, Mikael Blomkvist.
David Fincher will direct the film, which begins shooting next
month in Sweden.

Michael Douglas to undergo treatment for throat tumor
Hollywood actor Michael Douglas is preparing to undergo treatment
after doctors discovered a tumor in his throat.
A representative for Michael reveals the 65 year old will receive
eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy sessions but he is
expected to make a full recovery.
And Michael, who is married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, is
confident he will soon be back to full health.
In a recent statement, Douglas says, "I am very optimistic."

Heidi Montag Mourns Death of Her Plastic Surgeon...
Heidi Montag says she's devastated by the death of the surgeon
who transformed her body.
"He was the most amazing person I have ever known. He was an
angel and changed my life and the lives of everyone he met,"
Heidi Tweeted Tuesday about Dr. Frank Ryan, who performed her
10 procedures last year.
"He was the most brilliant talented surgeon who will ever
exist," she adds. "My thoughts and prayers go out to his
mother, family, friends, and anyone who was ever blessed
enough to meet him. He is in a better place."
Ryan died Monday after his Jeep careened off the Pacific Coast
Highway.
"We are all in shock," Ryan's rep comments. "He was such a
hardworking philanthropic man, a loving son, and responsible
for changing many people's lives for the better. He will be
missed by many."

The UNHCR goodwill ambassador is ready to hit the road again:
Angelina Jolie wants to go to Pakistan, where devastating
floods have affected as many as 20 million people and left
2,000 dead.
"This one is really one that we really have to urgently get
in there and try and do what we can," Angelina, speaking at
the London premiere of her movie Salt. "We'll financially
help, we'll try to figure out which is the best group, we'll
probably do HCR and hope to visit and go when the attention
dies down and maintain the attention. Because it's millions
and millions of people who'll be uprooted fora very, very
long time."
Speaking to reporters on the movie's red carpet, and looking
dazzling in an Amanda Wakeley dress, Angelina turned from the
topic of real roles to reel roles.
Asked about reports that she would play Marilyn Monroe to
George Clooney's Frank Sinatra for a biopic, she told
reporters, "This is a new rumor. It sounds very nice, I
just haven't got the phone call yet! You guys will probably
know before I do!"
Were her companion Brad Pitt to have his way, however, she'd
continue with action roles. "Brad met me doing stunts,"
Angelina said, referring to their work together in 2005's Mr.
and Mrs. Smith. "He likes that side of me."

Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood Call It Quits (Again!)...
Talk about on-again, off-again: Marilyn Manson and actress
Evan Rachel Wood ended their engagement last week.
The newly single Marilyn then hit the town Saturday night,
dining at L.A's STK and clubbing at next door Boudoir with a
group including a brunette named Twiggy and former Playmate
of the Year Colleen Shannon.
"They just broke off their engagement, and he needed a night
out with friends," says another source.
While together, the shock rocker proposed to the True Blood
actress, during a January stage performance in Paris.
The two began dating in 2006 but then broke up in 2008, when
Evan was linked briefly to actor Shane West.
They reconciled for a short time, only to split again before
becoming engaged last January.

It's Halle Berry...
The "Monster's Ball" star once ran down the beach naked in
the holiday resort of Cabo San Lucas for a photoshoot, and
she admits she would jump at the chance to repeat the daring
challenge if she could escape unpunished.
She says, "I could not have been happier in my life (during
the Mexican photoshoot).
"If the world wouldn't persecute me, I'd take nude pictures
every day of the week."
Halle is no stranger to disrobing on camera. She appeared
nude in the 1999 biopic "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" and
went topless for 2001 action film "Swordfish."
She also showed some skin in prison drama "Monster's Ball"
(2001) during a sex scene with co-star Billy Bob Thornton,
a role which won her the Best Actress Oscar in 2002.
