Hello Everyone,

When buying an avocado, very gently squeeze the narrow top part between thumb and forefinger. If it's unripe it will be too firm to have any "give". Too ripe and you'll lose your fingertips into it from squishiness (I'm aware that's not a word, but anywho). Just right and you'll feel a bit of give but no permanent dentage.

Hint 1: Susan wrote in asking: How do you get yellow stains out of the arm pits of shirts?

Susan, please try this quick and easy tip on removing those
tough stains.

Stain remover mixture consists of one part Dawn dish washing liquid mixed with two parts Hydrogen peroxide. Pour the mixture over the tough stain, scrub for a few minutes, let the shirt sit with the mixture on it for an hour or so, and then launder as usual.

If you try this at home, please email in and let me know if
this 'miracle' mixture worked on your tough stains.

Hint 2: This hint is an oldie but goody.

Place fabric softener sheets in your dresser drawers and
in your closets this will keep your clothes and linens
smelling fresh for several weeks. I also put a fabric
softener sheet under my trash bag to help keep the trash
can from smelling of unpleasant odors.
