Here's the Scoop....

Will Smith has tapped Denzel Washington to star in The American Can.

The film will be based on the true story of John Keller, who stayed behind in his New Orleans apartment complex to ward off looters and take care of residents unable to evacuate after the levees broke as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

Will initially was supposed to star as Keller, but had to bow out because of his involvement in M. Night Shyamalan' s One Thousand A.E., which was recently pushed back to begin filming in January. Smith will still be involved behind the scenes of The American Can.

Will and Sony reportedly are waiting on Denzel's notes on John Lee Hancock's script. Besides writing Can, Hancock, whose credits include The Blind Side and The Alamo, will also direct.

Now, let's get to the rest of the nooz...

The Bachelor's Emily Maynard and Brad Womack Split...

After months of speculation following their enchanted engagement on The Bachelor season finale last March, Emily Maynard and Brad Womack have decided to call it quits.

"We're no longer engaged," a teary-eyed Emily said minutes after taping an intimate interview with Bachelor host Chris Harrison, for a segment scheduled to air during the July 11 episode of ABC's The Bachelorette.

Hounded by paparazzi and dogged by relentless tabloid rumors, the Charlotte, N.C., single mom, 25, decided to break her silence about the status of her and Brad's relationship. By doing so, she hopes to put an end to "all the media speculation" so that she and her 6-year-old daughter, Ricki, "can move on and get back to normal."

Brad, 38, declined to participate in the on-camera interview with Emily. He says that "the demise of our relationship was completely my fault."

But Emily disagrees, saying that while there's still an immense amount of love between the pair, "just because we love each other doesn't mean we're right for each other."

Beyonce opens up about success...

Beyonce only fully came to terms with her huge success last year when she took a 12-month career break.

She had worked tirelessly since her early teens before taking 2010 off at the height of her fame.

After shooting into the spotlight in Destiny's Child, Beyonce has since released three platinum albums and picked up a raft of awards, including a staggering 16 Grammys.

And Beyonce admits she never truly thought about her accomplishments until she had time to relax and take it in.

She comments, "I love what I do, I love writing songs... I do not count the 72 songs I wrote in that year (off) as work because it is what I was born to do. And (in my year off) I learned balance; I learned the importance of taking time for myself.

"I was moving around so much that I didn't realize I have 16 Grammies. I've heard that, I've got up and accepted my awards, but I didn't realize what a massive accomplishment that is."

Pink had to give up home birth plans for C-section...

Singer Pink had a scary delivery experience when she gave birth to her daughter earlier this month. The singer had to have a C-section.

Pink welcomed beautiful baby Willow Sage on June 2, but she admits everything didn't go as smoothly as she and husband Carey Hart had hoped.

She reveals, "I was really looking forward to the whole rite of passage, giving birth perfectly present, unmedicated, in the way nature intended... Turns out this little girl had other plans. She is my daughter after all."

Pink ultimately had to shelve her plans for an all-natural home birth with midwives and instead head to the hospital for an emergency operation.

She adds, "Even though (it) wasn't what we intended, it all turned out perfectly in the end because she is healthy and happy and so am I."

"I actually like a man to smell like a real man. I like guys to smell manly and not wear too much scent so that I can still smell his skin." - Kim Kardashian.

It's Katy Perry...

The "I Kissed a Girl" singer isn't naming names, but she hopes the target of her new Rolling Stone magazine rant reads the piece - and realizes what a terrible person she was.

Katy reveals, "I remember coming to L.A. for the first time and meeting Gwen Stefani and how gracious and wonderful she was, and then meeting another favorite artist of mine and what a c**t she was.

"It ruined my dreams of that person, the c**t, and I will always be a fan of the person who was gracious."

And she admits the encounter made her realize how important it is to be pleasant and grateful when meeting fans, no matter how she feels.
