THE DAILY GROANER - Monday, July 23rd 2012
Good Morning Groanies,Stacy and I attended a local carnival over the weekend and had a great time. We had some barbecue, listened to live music, sat in the beer garden, rode the Gravitron, bumper cars and the tilt-a-whirl.
As we left I realized that I miss being a kid. I miss a time of innocence and fun. A time of being able to eat nachos, pizza and hot dogs and then riding the "Ring of Fire" without puking. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not a young as I used to be.
But now I'm looking forward to seeing Jack enjoy all of the fun that comes with being a kid. Experiencing that will make me feel more happiness than I ever did as a kid. Oh, the things to come.
Groaningly yours,

DailyGroaner*-- Fast and Cheap --*You'd never believe it, but I bumped into a famous stuntman in a motorcycle shop the other day. He was complaining because he couldn't decide whether to buy a bike with a high top speed but poor acceleration, or one with lots of torque and a fast acceleration but a poor top speed.
Eventually he decided on the second one because it cost a lot less. After all, torque is cheap.
*-- Good Grief --*A man placed some flowers on the grave of his dearly departed mother and started back toward his car when his attention was diverted to another man kneeling at a grave.
The man seemed to be praying with profound intensity and kept repeating, "Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?"
The first man approached him and said, "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with your private grief, but this demonstration of pain is more than I've ever seen before. For whom do you mourn so deeply? A child? A parent?"
The mourner took a moment to collect himself, then replied, "My wife's first husband."
*-- Q and A Quickies --*Q: What do you think of Flushing, NY?
A: I think it's a great idea.
Q: How do you know when you're staying in an Alabama hotel?
A: When you call the front desk and say "I've gotta leak in my sink" and the person at the desk says "go ahead."
