Jenny McCarthy not popular with 'View' viewers, report says

Jenny McCarthy's new job at "The View" in New York may be in jeopardy because audience members don't like her, RadarOnline.com reported Tuesday. McCarthy joined Barbara Walters, Whoopi Godlberg and Sherri Shepherd on the daytime chat show panel last month, following the departure of longtime co-hosts Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "ABC as begun doing deep research on Jenny's work on the show and the initial findings are that viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth!" a production source told Radar. "The data has revealed that she is far more off-putting than Elisabeth." Walters isn't looking for a replacement for Jenny yet, the insider added, however, the show's moderator and executive producer is "obsessed with ratings and the longevity of the show, so Jenny needs to turn it around or she will be gone."

Pitt says '12 Years a Slave' is type of film he always wanted to make

Hollywood actor and producer Brad Pitt says making films like "12 Years a Slave" is why he got into show business in the first place. The movie, which opens in the United States Friday, is already earning Oscar buzz after well-received festival screenings. It is based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a free black man from New York kidnapped and sold into slavery in the 19th century American South, and the harrowing obstacles he overcomes to get home. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Solomon, while Pitt plays a pivotal supporting role in the film and helped produce the movie. "It's why I got into film in the first place," Pitt told ABC's "Today" show in an interview to air Wednesday, promoting "12 Years a Slave." "It's one of those few films that cuts to the base of our humanity." Asked if he would like to share the film with his own children, who range in age from 5 to 12, Pitt replied: "Oh, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. "Maybe my eldest I would, right now," he said. "I'd rather for the others to get a little bit older and understand the dynamics of the world a little more."

Christina Milian gets the boot on 'Dancing with the Stars'

Singer Christina Milian and her professional partner Mark Ballas were eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" in Los Angeles Monday night. The couple were given the boot because they had the lowest number of viewer votes. "It's true shock," Milian said about their ouster. "I wasn't expecting that, but you know what? We had, I think, the best performance tonight that we had thus far. ... I've made some great memories and great friends here. Everyone has been fantastic and I've learned a lot about myself just being here. It's been amazing. If you take a great challenge, a great risk, you become a better person." Still in the running for the coveted mirror-ball trophy are actresses Elizabeth Berkley, Leah Remini and Amber Riley, "Jersey Shore" alum Snooki Polizzi, singer-actor Corbin Bleu, comedian Bill Engvall, actor Brant Daugherty and reality TV personality Jack Osbourne. Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke Charvet are co-hosts of the show.

Jay Z headlined the Saturday show, which featured guest appearances by Martin and Timbaland.

It's Caroline Manzo

Caroline Manzo leaving 'Real Housewives of New Jersey'

Caroline Manzo, an original cast member on "Real Housewives of New Jersey," has announced she is leaving the show. Manzo tweeted her decision Sunday soon after the reunion finale episode of the 2013 season aired on Bravo, People magazine reported. Manzo is developing a new show to be called "Manzo'd with Children." "We are having an absolute blast filming it, and I hope you all join us as we start our new chapter within the Bravo network. We didn't close the book, we just turned the page," she said. Manzo promised a "very different look into the world of the Manzo family." That includes her husband, Al, one of the owners of The Brownstone, a Paterson, N.J., catering hall, and their three children. When "Real Housewives of New Jersey" first aired in 2008, the cast included Dina Manzo, Caroline's sister who was then married to Albert's brother, Tommy, and their sister-in-law, Jacqueline Laurita. Laurita is still with the show and Dina Manzo left but may be returning for the sixth season.
