Bret Michaels has emerged as the new favorite to replace Simon
Cowell as an "American Idol" judge after his triumphant
performance on the live finale of the talent show on Wednesday
night.
The Poison singer ignored his doctors' advice and took to the
"Idol" stage for a duet with finalist Casey James.
The ailing rocker, who is still recovering from a near-fatal
brain hemorrhage and a recent stroke, was an instant hit with
fans, who gave him a standing ovation as he walked out to sing
a rendition of Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."
And Simon was left so impressed he's considering handing him
his judging seat now that he has quit the show after nine
years on the panel.
Simon commented, "Actually, he'd be good. He's funny. He's got
experience. He'd be a good choice, and you saw the audience
reaction to him. They love him."

Diff'rent Strokes Star Gary Coleman Dies at 42...
Gary Coleman, who by age 11 had skyrocketed to become TV's
brightest star but as an adult could never quite land on
solid footing, has died after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
He was 42.
Gary died at 12:05 p.m. at the Utah Valley Regional Medical
Center in Provo, Utah, where he had been in a coma.
"He was removed from life support; soon thereafter, he passed
quickly and peacefully," his manager John Alcantar says. "By
Gary?s bedside were his wife and other close family members."
Gary suffered an intracranial hemorrhage at his Utah home on
Wednesday night. On Thursday, he was "conscious and lucid,"
the hospital says in a statement, "but by early afternoon that
same day, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness
and his condition worsened."

Céline Dion Is Pregnant ? with Twins...
Céline Dion's dream to expand her family has come true.
The singer, 42, is pregnant with twins after undergoing her sixth
in-vitro fertilization attempt and turning to acupuncture to
improve her chances of a pregnancy, her rep Kim Jakwerth confirms.
Céline, mom to 9-year-old son René-Charles, is 14 weeks along.
She will find out the gender of the twins next month.
"We're ecstatic," her husband/manager René Angelil says. "Celine =
is just hoping for a healthy pregnancy. She was hoping for one
baby and the news that we are having two is a double blessing!"

Are Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt Headed for a Split...
After firing husband Spencer Pratt as her manager, Heidi Montag
acknowledged recently she also talked of divorce, but quickly
dismissed that as "being dramatic."
Now, the drama has just reportedly intensified.
Heidi, wants to move out of the house she shares with Spencer,
and into her own Malibu digs, quoting an unidentified Heidi's
rep as saying the reality star "is looking to move out due to
all the fake bad press that Spencer controls."
The report couldn't be immediately confirmed, and the pair's
hyperactive Twitter pages made no direct mention of a split,
though Heidi did write two days ago, "PS: I am not Heidi Pratt,
I am Heidi Montag."

Hollywood Iconoclast Dennis Hopper Dies at 74...
Surrounded by family and friends, Dennis Hopper died from
complications of metastatic prostate cancer on Saturday morning
at his Venice, Calif. home, his manager confirms. The edgy,
Oscar-nominated actor and sometime writer-director, known for
his roles in Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now, Speed and over 100
other films, was 74.
Dennis became ill in fall of 2009, but continued to work (on
the TV series Crash and a photography book) until the end.
Although he appeared frail and gaunt, the icon showed up in
March to receive his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
"Everything I've learned, I've learned from Hollywood," he
said at the ceremony. The Kansas native arrived in Hollywood
at age 18. "This has been my home and my schooling."
Dennis' final days were marred by a caustic divorce battle
withhis fifth wife, Victoria Duffy. One of his ex-wives
included Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas, to
whom he was married for a mere eight days.
The screen legend is survived by four children: daughters
Marin, Ruthana and Galen, and son Henry.

The former "Grey's Anatomy" star has shot to fame since her
breakthrough movie role in 2007 hit "Knocked Up," landing
parts in romantic comedies including "The Ugly Truth," "27
Dresses" and new film "Killers."
But she's looking to scale back her work schedule after becoming
a mom to adopted daughter Naleigh, and is contemplatinga new life
in Tennessee so pop/rock star Kelley can focus on rebranding
himself as a country music artist.
Katherine admits she has her worries about moving states but
insists it's all part of becoming a mature adult.
She comments, "It's time to reevaluate and grow up.
"I hope by my mid-30s, I get to the point where I don't doubt
myself. I'm going to make mistakes and say stupid things, but
I won't have to sit in a room in the dark and wonder, 'Am I a
bad person?' It will be, 'OK Katie, enough with the drama.'"
Kelley, whose brother Charles is one third of hit country band
Lady Antebellum, signed a new record deal with Universal Music
Nashville in November.
