Good morning crew,

Rain! And a lot of it, too. It rained almost all night last
night and this morning we had the inevitable flooding. That
made the drive to work a lot of fun, if you consider driving
fifteen miles-per-hour through six inches of standing water
fun.

On the plus side all of the overcast weather we have had
recently has really cooled things off. It has been in the
mid seventies instead of the mid nineties the last couple
of days. And that has made running considerably more
bearable.

I was never a fanatical runner, but really, there is no
easier way to work out. All you need is a half hour or so
and a pair of shoes. However, I may have pushed myself a
little too far last night.

When it's ninety degrees outside I can manage about two
miles before my internal thermostat tell me, "Okay, it's
time to quit or I'm going to turn off the higher body
functions."

But last night it was so cool that I pushed myself to do
about four miles. I felt really good about myself until I
woke up this morning and tried to get out of bed. All day
I have been walking around like an old man, and it gets
worse when I sit still for ten minutes.

So you see...I can find the black cloud inside of every
silver lining.

Laugh it up,

Joe

No one is more cautious than a first-time parent. After our
daughter was big enough to ride on the back of my bicycle,
I bought a special carrier with a seat belt and got her a
little helmet.

The day of the first ride I put her in the seat, double-
checked all the equipment, wheeled the bike to the end of
the driveway, carefully looked both ways and, swinging my
leg up over the crossbar, accidentally kicked her right in
the chin.

*-------------- Guaranteed to Roll Your Eyes ---------------*

My wife doesn't complain often, but once she was having a
old-fashioned "heart-to-heart" with me and said, "Hon, you
never listen to me. Every time I try to talk to you, you
get this far-away look in your eyes after only a few seconds.
Please promise me you'll try to work on that."

The last thing I remember was replying, "I'm sorry, what
was that you were saying?"
