Good morning crew,
After I got my truck back from the repair shop last Saturday afternoon...again, Sunday morning the furnace stopped working...again. So I had the same guys who worked on it last month come back out. Sure, they didn't fix it the first time, but since it is the same problem I didn't have to pay for another service call like I would if I called somebody new who might actually know how to fix a furnace.
So yesterday the wife spent her morning watching the repair guy bang on the thing with a wrench.
Eventually he concluded that in order to fix it (but for real this time) it will need about a thousand dollars worth of repairs.
He said dumping a thousand bucks on a seventeen-year-old furnace would be a waste of money when we could buy a new one with a ten-year warranty for a mere two thousand.
So Merry Christmas to me.
On the plus side it is only going to get down to 40 degrees tonight, so at least we won't freeze.
Laugh it up,
Joe

A noted psychiatrist was a guest at an academic function, and his hostess naturally broached the subject in which the doctor was most at ease. "Would you mind telling me, Doctor," she asked, "how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?"
"Nothing is easier," he replied. "You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track."
"What sort of question?"
"Well, you might ask him, 'Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?'"
The hostess thought a moment, then said with a nervous laugh, "You wouldn't happen to have another example would you? I must confess I don't know much about history."
