Good morning crew,

You may not remember me writing about it, but a couple of
years ago I had my identity stolen. Those dirty [EXPLETIVE
DELETED] opened and maxed out about $20,000 worth of credit
using my identity. Fortunately I didn't have to pay for
any of it, but it literally took me weeks of effort to clear
my credit of all of that debt.

And it still haunts me. A couple weeks ago I wanted to open
a store charge card to get a ten percent discount on a
couple of shirts and a pair of jeans, and they almost didn't
give it to me because I still have red flags all over my
credit.

There is no guarantee, no matter how careful you are, that
a clever criminal will not take advantage of you like that,
but you don't have to make it easy for them.

Very often it all starts with carelessly throwing away a
document with the right (or wrong...I should say!) kind of
personal information on it.

You could spend a couple hundred bucks on a shredder...or
for eight bucks you could keep the handy little ID Protector
Stamp in your desk drawer.

It effectively and permanently obscures your name and address
on forms so you just stamp the form and toss it in the trash.
I doesn't get any easier than that!

This stamp will render printed personal information illegible.
No expensive shredders needed. Specially designed permanent
ink pattern jumbles confidential info printed on mail, checks,
letters and more. Environmentally friendly.

One thing to note... it is not great on glossy paper like
magazines. You have to let it dry.

You're going to want one of these for your desk drawer.

My musician son decided to play guitar at his own wedding
reception. That day, tuning his strings was taking longer
than usual. "It's a little harder to do with a ring on,"
he apologized to the waiting guests.

That's when a man called out, "Everything's harder with a
ring on!"

At my ten-year-old's request, I loaded my Rolling Stones
tunes onto his iPod.

"I had no idea you liked the Stones," I said.

"Sure. I like all that old-fashioned music," he said.

"What do you mean, 'old-fashioned music'?"

"You know," he said defensively. "Music from the 1900s."
