Good morning crew,
I have not been having very good car luck lately. Two
Thursdays ago I came out of work to find a flat tire. It
happens. I try not to get bent out of shape over these
kinds of things.
But I have a truck (and SUV, actually) and the spare tire
is up, underneath the back end, held there by a crank
release system. When I tried to release the spare it
wouldn't come down no matter how much banging and swearing
I did.
So I called roadside assistance. He couldn't get the spare
to come down either. He was, however, able to charge me 30
bucks to plug the puncture in the tire.
But when he was getting ready to jack the front end up so
he could take the tire off he asked me to engage the
emergency brake...which promptly snapped as soon as I pressed
my foot down on it.
There I was, two and a half hours later, with two huge
repairs staring me in the face. I took the truck to my local
guy who didn't even want to touch it. He told me to take it
to a dealership.
The next day the dealership told me they could fix it, but
they didn't have the parts. That was twelve days and two
visits to the dealership ago.
I just got the call. They finally have the final screw that
will allow them to install the new emergency brake cable.
Hopefully this will be my last trip in there. I'm not going
to tell you how much it cost to have these little repairs
done.
Suffice it to say it all went on the credit card. So much
for paying that off any time soon.
