Thursday, February 28, 2013Good morning crew,
I am not looking forward to this weekend. The tournament is on Sunday and that means Saturday night I have to go to the high school where it is being held to help set up. That should only take about four hours of hard, physical labor.
Then I have to back there at eight in the morning for what will almost certainly be a 10-hour day of refereeing, judging, board-holding and generally corralling the four or five hundred snot-nosed little kids who will be competing.
And all the way at the end of the day, after all of the little kids are done and the trophies are all handed out, and I am thoroughly exhausted, comes the adult sparring competition which I somehow got talked into participating in.
But the fun doesn't end there. After I get beaten on and humiliated by two or three guys who are younger and in better shape than I am, I get to help pick up all of the mats, folding tables, folding chairs and other paraphernalia and load it back into the trucks.
Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
Laugh it up,
Joe

***A father is in church with three of his young children, in- cluding his five year old daughter.
As was customary, he sat in the very front row so that the children could properly witness the service.
During this particular service, the minister was performing the baptism of a tiny infant. The little five year old girl was taken by this, observing that he was saying something and pouring water over the infant's head.
With a quizzical look on her face, the little girl turned to her father and asked with all the innocence of a five year old...
"Daddy, why is he brainwashing that baby?"
*-------------- Guaranteed to Roll Your Eyes --------------*"What kind of music do you sing?"
"Aqua-pella."
"Don't you mean 'a cappella', singing without instrumental accompaniment?"
"Nope. I mean 'aqua-pella', singing accompanied only by the water coming out of the shower-head."
