Good morning crew,

Well, I got the news about the injury at the tournament last weekend. It wasn't a dislocated shoulder but a broken arm!

In a lot of ways a break is better than a dislocation, because a dislocation involves a lot of soft tissue damage, tendons and ligaments, and can often take even longer to heal than a break.

So while that poor guy is probably hating life right now, he's luckier than he thinks.

Well, martial arts training is not a knitting class, as an old college buddy of mine used to say.

I am recovering from a tournament injury as well. One of those little kids kicked me in the hand while I was holding a board during the board-breaking competition and bruised my pinky.

Laugh it up,

Joe

I suppose it speaks volumes about the state of my marriage when I admit to nodding knowingly at a remark made by a colleague.

She was telling me about the death of another co-worker's spouse, when she commented, "How sad. They'd been married only five years, so I imagine she still loved him."

On the way back from a Cub Scout meeting, my grandson asked my son the question. "Dad, I know that babies come from mommies' tummies, but how do they get there in the first place?" he asked innocently.

After my son hemmed and hawed awhile, my grandson finally spoke up in disgust. "You don't have to make something up, Dad. It's OK if you don't know the answer."
