Saturaday, July 23, 2011Hello everyone,
Wanted to say thanks for all the welcomes and feedback from last week - keep up them coming, cause it makes my job even more fun.
In high school, I signed up for two semesters of guitar class. I was so excited to start shreddin on my new electric guitar at home, and I remember being confused on the first day of class when we were handed some dumpy nylon-stringed classical guitars. We had to hold them a certain way - I was expecting the typical grunge-slump stance, but that wasn't exactly proper. I eventually got the hang of it, and now wish I had a good nylon-string to play on sometimes.
The guitars we used were in pretty bad shape, probably because kids like one named Jim scraped the sides with his guitar pick. He was kind of an *******. (Fill in the blank as you see fit)
Anyway, I grew up with parents' oldies channels, and "Classical Gas"popped up all the time. I never cared for it til a certain age, and now consider it one of the best instrumentals of all time. I appreciate the classic guitar style; it reminds me of learning guitar in high school.
Happy listening
