Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

As we approach the Christmas season, there have been numerous questions surrounding the traditions. "Is it wrong to celebrate Christmas? I was told that it is pagan." "Should I teach my children about Santa Claus?" "Should I have a Christmas tree?"

The structure of "Positive, Encouraging & Inspirational Messages" does not allow me fully to address these issues, but hopefully I can give you enough guidance, that you, (with the help of the Holy Spirit), can find the answers yourself. And, as always, I will not tell you what to do. God will show you, if you ask Him.

Each issue I will attempt to address some of these topics. Firstly, the Bible specifically does NOT tell us the date of Jesus' birth. We do know that the shepherds were out in the fields with their flocks at night. There is nothing in the Bible about celebrating December 25.

God Bless You!

Q. What good news did an angel of the Lord bring to the priest Zacharias?

Answer below.

The coming of Christ by way of a Bethlehem manger seems strange and stunning. But when we take Him out of the manger and invite Him into our hearts, then the meaning unfolds and the strangeness vanishes.

C. Neil Strait

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Q. What good news did an angel of the Lord bring to the priest Zacharias?

A. His wife would bear a son.

But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John."

Luke 1:13
