Romans 5:6-9
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ
died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will
one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare
to die.
But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while
we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through Him.

What does it mean to lay down our life for another? Would
we have what it takes should the need ever arise? That is
a very difficult question to answer since most of us will
never be put to the test.
It might be easier to answer if we were called to die for
someone we loved dearly, but what about dying for an evil,
wretched, sinful person that hated and rejected us?
Jesus lead the way when he died for us all "when we were
yet sinners." (See Bible verse above.) Praise God for His
perfect example!
