Here's the Scoop...

Paula Deen continues to lose endorsements over her controversial comments. Now Caesars entertainment is dropping her from their restaurants and buffets at their casinos.

After her appearance on the Today show, things seem to be getting worse instead of better. Maybe time to hire a new PR team.

Ciao,
Sarah

Chris Brown charged with hit-and-run for May fender bender

Los Angeles city prosecutors say singer Chris Brown has been officially charged with driving without a valid license and hit-and-run. The misdemeanors stem from an incident in which the recording artist allegedly rear-ended another vehicle May 21, then left the scene without exchanging information with the other driver. Since Brown is on probation for assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, he could spend six months in prison if convicted of the motor-vehicle offenses, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Lil Snupe's suspected shooter turns self in to police

A 36-year-old suspect in the death of rapper Lil Snupe has turned himself into authorities, said Louisiana's Winnfield City Police Department. Tony Holden was booked Tuesday without incident to Winnfield City Jail and formally charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, MTV News reported. No bond has been set yet. Holden is accused of fatally shooting the 18-year-old hip-hop artist born Addarren Ross twice in the torso during an altercation last week. Snupe recently signed with Meek Mill's record label.

Broadway to dim marquee lights for Gandolfini

The Broadway community says it will mark the sudden loss of celebrated actor James Gandolfini by dimming theater marquee lights Wednesday. Gandolfini died of a heart attack last week while on vacation in Italy with his family. He was 51.
The marquees of Broadway theaters will be dimmed in his memory at exactly 8 p.m. for one minute. "James Gandolfini was a consummate actor who brought individuality to each role and inspired a true connection with the audience. Whether on screen or on a Broadway stage, he made every role believable and seemingly effortless," Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League, said in a statement Tuesday. "Our thoughts go out to his family and friends, and certainly to all of his fans who felt as if they knew his characters." Although well-known for playing a New Jersey mob boss on the Emmy Award-winning HBO series "The Sopranos," which premiered in 1999 and ran for six seasons, Gandolfini also had a long and diverse list of credits as a stage and film actor, including many character and supporting roles. He earned a 2009 Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play for his role in Broadway's "God of Carnage." He also appeared in New York stage productions of "On the Waterfront" in 1995 and "A Streetcar Named Desire" in 1992. He is survived by his wife Deborah Lin; their daughter, Liliana; and a son, Michael, from his first marriage.

Starz orders 'Outlander' series

Starz says it will begin shooting "Outlander," a drama series based on Diana Gabaldon's books, in Scotland this fall. The network said the 16-episode series is slated to premiere in 2014. Ronald D. Moore and Jim Kohlberg are executive producers of "Outlander." "We are thrilled to be bringing 'Outlander' to Starz next year," Chris Albrecht, chief executive producer of Starz, said in a statement Tuesday. "Diana has created an incredibly compelling heroine, thrust into a very complex world, not to mention, time. The books weave a fascinating tapestry of history, spirituality, love and honor, not to mention plenty of time travel, sex and warfare. With Diana's stories guiding us and Ron's mastery, we hope to bring [characters] Claire and Jamie to life for the millions of fans the world over." "I'm very excited to have the opportunity to bring these books to life," Moore said. "Diana's created a rich and textured world filled with intriguing characters, and I believe that Starz is the perfect home for her story. I think we'll make something that the millions of fans of these books will enjoy and recognize as 'Outlander.'"
