Injured Barbara Walters is suffering from chicken pox

Barbara Walters, who fell and cut her head 10 days ago, now is suffering from chicken pox, it was announced on Monday's edition of "The View" in New York. Walters, 83, was hospitalized in Washington last week after tripping on a stair at the British ambassador's residence. The injury prevented her from covering the presidential inauguration festivities as planned for ABC News. "We want to give you an update on Barbara. You all know that she fell and cut her head 10 days ago, and then was running a temperature, but it turns out it is all the result of a delayed childhood. Barbara has the chicken pox. She'd never had it as a child. So, now she's been told to rest. She's not allowed any visitors. And we're telling you, Barbara, no scratching," moderator Whoopi Goldberg said on "The View" Monday.
Walters transferred to a New York hospital late last week and expects to be home soon, Goldberg said. "We love you. We miss you. We just don't want to hug you," she added in a message to Walters.

Dior: No wardrobe malfunction for Lawrence

A representative for Dior says Jennifer Lawrence did not suffer a wardrobe malfunction at the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday. Lawrence, 22, looked stunning in the blue gown she wore to the event, but the frock appeared to come apart, leaving her upper thighs bare, when she stood to collect her Best Actress statuette for her work in the film "Silver Linings Playbook." "The dress is made with different levels of tulle and satin and that is what the viewers saw when Jennifer lifted her dress slightly," a representative from the Dior fashion house told EW.com Monday. "It was not ripped and there was no malfunction ... it was the design of the gown."

January Jones says her hair is falling out

"Mad Men" actress January Jones says frequent coloring has caused her hair to start falling out. "I have been every color and now my hair is falling out in clumps," Jones, 35, told British magazine Grazia Daily during a recent interview at Utah's Sundance Film Festival where she was promoting her new movie "Sweetwater." "I like it all colors. It makes you feel different according to what color it is, but I prefer to be blonde. My son recognizes me in photos when I am blonde. He says, 'Mama.' "I've been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again. I'm going to have to shave it off and wear a wig," Jones said.

Norah Jones to sing 'Ted' theme at Oscars

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Norah Jones is to perform "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" from "Ted" at the Oscars in Los Angeles next month. This will be Jones' first time performing on an Oscar show, telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said Monday. The song features music by Walter Murphy and lyrics by Seth MacFarlane, who also wrote and directed "Ted," as well as provided the voice for the titular stuffed bear. "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" is nominated for an Original Song Oscar. "I had such a great time recording this song with Seth, and was thrilled to find out that it was nominated for an Oscar," Jones said in a statement. "Getting to perform it at such a prestigious event, which my friend [MacFarlane] is hosting, is a once in a lifetime opportunity." "We are happy to have Norah Jones perform Seth's and Walter Murphy's nominated song on our Oscar telecast," said Zadan and Meron in a joint statement. "We are big admirers of Norah's singing, and she will help celebrate the unique circumstance of having an Oscar host who is also nominated for Best Original Song." Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The ceremony is to air on ABC.
