Chaka Khan enters rehab for prescription pain med abuse
Chaka Khan's representative has confirmed the Grammy Award-winning, R&B icon is undergoing treatment for prescription drug addiction.

Her publicist told the Modesto Bee the artist canceled her Stanislaus County Fair appearance this week because she "voluntarily entered the program to get healthy and stay that way."

Stanislaus County Fair spokeswoman Adrenna Alkhas said Jody Watley and Shalamar will replace Khan.

"We are extremely disappointed Chaka Khan canceled because we knew how much the community was looking forward to it, yet at the same time we wish her the best in her health and full recovery," Alkhas said in a statement. "We are very excited to announce that Jody Watley and Shalamar will be replacing her. They will bring a high-energy performance that our guests will love."

Us Weekly noted Khan was close friends with the late Prince, who died of an overdose in April after a long battle with prescription drug addiction, suggesting Khan may be trying to avoid a similar fate.

Khan had also been to rehab for substance abuse several times in the past, the magazine said.

The 63-year-old recording star is known for her songs "I'm Every Woman," "On the Other Side of the World" and "I Feel For You." She also competed on Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars.

Guitarist Joe Perry collapses off stage in New York, taken to hospital
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Joe Perry collapsed just off the stage during a performance in New York Sunday night and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The 65-year-old guitarist, a longtime member of Aerosmith, was in the middle of a concert with his side band, the Hollywood Vampires at New Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn when fan's video appears to show Perry having to sit on the drum riser during a song. A few seconds later, he stops playing and stumbles off stage.

Perry reportedly collapsed unconscious moments later. EMTs on site were able to revie Perry and he was transported to a Brooklyn hospital about 9:30 p.m.

The band also features Alice Cooper and actor/musician Johnny Depp. According to Aerosmith fan site AeroFanatic, Cooper told the crowd a few minutes later, "If you notice one of our brothers is not onstage with us, he was very sick before show."

The band finished the show without him, but Cooper roused the crowd to chant "Get well, Joe."

Cooper later tweeted Perry was stable and with his family and "under the best care."

"His brother Vampires and fans wish him a speedy recovery," a band representative told Rolling Stone magazine.

Flea, the bass player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, admits he loves Metallica, but he's no Robert Trujillo.

Still, he and his band mates were hauled in to a customs office in Belarus and asked to sign a bunch of Metallica photographs and CDs, he reported on his Instagram.

"We were called into customs officials office at an airport in Belarus and they asked us to sign a bunch of Metallica cd's and photos," Flea wrote. "We tried to explain to them that we weren't Metallica but they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power. Well I did play fight fire with with Metallica once. I love Metallica anyways but I'm no Robert Trujillo."
