HOLLYWOOD - John Williams, who wrote the music for all past Star Wars films, will compose the score for "Star Wars: Episode VII," producers said in Germany. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy made the announcement Saturday at Star Wars Celebration Europe II, a fan gathering in Messe Essen, Germany, Entertainment Weekly reported. "I'm waiting anxiously -- like the audience around the world -- to find out what the surprises are, and discover what my continued role is going to be," Williams, 81, said, adding he knows none of the story details for the movie. Williams has been nominated for 48 Academy Awards, and has won five, for "Fiddler on the Roof," "Jaws," "Star Wars," "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," and "Schindler's List." It had not been clear whether Williams would be brought back for the upcoming "Star Wars" film, as producer J.J. Abrams, 47, has a favorite Oscar-winning composer in Michael Giacchino. Giacchino's film credits in collaboration with Abrams include the "Star Trek" reboots, "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol" and "Super 8." He won an Academy Award for Pixar's "Up" was was nominated for an Oscar for the Pixar film, "Ratatouille." He also with Abrams on the TV series "Alias" and "Lost." The Hollywood Reporter said the new "Star Wars" script will be written by Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine") and is set to open in 2015. *-- Leah Remini talks about leaving Scientology --*

MALIBU, Calif. - U.S. actress and TV personality Leah Remini says she left the Church of Scientology because she didn't want to be told what to think or to whom she could speak. Remini, 43, was the female lead in the long-running sitcom "King of Queens" and is a former co-host of "The Talk." She released a statement this month confirming she had left the church after more than 20 years and thanking her friends for their support. Although she didn't disclose her reasons for her departure, media reports said she had been interrogated and intimidated by church officials after she questioned their practices. Remini spoke out about her decision to leave Scientology to People.com during this past weekend. "I believe that people should be able to question things," Remini said. "I believe that people should value family, and value friendships, and hold those things sacrosanct. That for me, that's what I'm about. It wouldn't matter what it was, simply because no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot, talk to."

*-- Tara Reid won't return for 'Sharknado 2' --*

LOS ANGELES - Syfy does not plan to ask "Sharknado" co-star Tara Reid to appear in the New York-set sequel to its cult hit, TMZ reported. Producers of the television project met last week and decided the only actor they want from the original to appear in the sequel is Ian Ziering, the celebrity news website said. Reid and Ziering were paid $50,000 apiece for the first movie, which was set in California, but Ziering is expected to earn more for the sequel since the original "Sharknado" was such a hit. Ziering is best known for playing Steve Sanders on "Beverly Hills, 90210" for 10 seasons. He also competed on "Dancing with the Stars." Reid was a cast member of the "American Pie" comedy films. "Sharknado" is to premiere on the big-screen Friday night at select U.S. movie theaters.
