Keith Richards Is Causing A Stir By Saying..."Metallica And Black Sabbath Are Jokes"
Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards has caused a stir in the heavy metal community by revealing he can't take Metallica and Black Sabbath seriously.

The guitarist is not a fan of heavy rock and he cannot understand the appeal of the genre's top acts.

He tells the New York Daily News, "(Rock music) sounds like a dull thud to me. For most bands, getting the syncopation is beyond them. It's endless thudding away, with no bounce, no lift, no syncopation."

He continues, "Millions are in love with Metallica and Black Sabbath. I just thought they were great jokes."

Richards' disdain for musical genres also extends to hip-hop, with the rocker insisting he feels the music has little substance.

He continues, "Rap - so many words, so little said. "What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they're happy. There's an enormous market for people who can't tell one note from another."

Celebrity Chef Giada De Laurentiis Finalizes Costly Divorce...
Television chef Giada De Laurentiis officially divorced from husband Todd Thompson Thursday after 11 years of marriage.

Divorce documents obtained by People magazine reveal the specific details of the split, including that the pair will share joint custody of daughter Jade Marie. The divorce will prove costly for De Laurentiis as the successful chef will have to pay her ex $9,000 a month in child support.

Other expenses include Thompson keeping the couple's $3.2 million house in Pacific Palisades and with no prenup, De Laurentiis must give her former spouse 50 percent of all net book royalties for all books she published during their marriage along with 50 percent of the unpaid advances for new cookbooks she has in the works. Bank accounts totaling more than $2 million will also be divided.

The Food Network Star announced their split on Facebook in December writing, "Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family's happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths. Todd and I share a beautiful daughter and a lifetime of great memories that we both treasure more than anything. We are so thankful for our friends and family, and really appreciate the support in this time of change."

Back in May, De Laurentiis was rumored to have started dating celebrity chef Bobby Flay. A rep for Flay denied the rumors as did the Giada at Home host. In January, De Laurentiis denied rumors again of dating singer John Mayer and Today anchor Matt Lauer.

??? Guess Who ???

This actor who is urging Pope Francis and the Vatican to use his new film Spotlight to help heal sexually abused victims of the church?

It's Mark Ruffalo... The film, which covers the Boston Globe's investigation into accusations of child abuse by a number of Roman Catholic priests and the subsequent cover-up by the church hierarchy. Slated to debut in the fall, the film also stars Michael Keaton and Rachel McAdams.

Spotlight premiered Wednesday during the Venice Film Festival where Ruffalo spoke to reporters directly addressing Pope Francis and expressing his wish that the film will "begin to heal the wounds sustained not just by the survivors, but all the people that lost their faith because of the revelations."

"I hope the Vatican will use this movie to begin to right those wrongs: not just for the victims and their destroyed lives, but for all the people who have lost their way to order a chaotic world for themselves," said the actor. "We are hoping the pope will use this sober and, I believe, judicious story to begin to healing the wounds the church also received."

Director Tom McCarthy is less optimistic however that the film will bring about any sort of response from the Catholic Church.

"I remain pessimistic," the director said. "I was raised Catholic - but words are one thing, actions are another. I have high hopes for Francis, but what actual changes remain to be seen. To be honest, I expect no reaction at all. Nothing would make me happier to be proven wrong. I would love the pope, the cardinals, bishops and priests to see it. I don't think anyone can think this is an attack on the church: everything in the movie has been well reported on and documented."

Ruffalo's plea comes a month after Pope Francis invited over various Hollywood actors and executives to discuss media matters and the Catholic Church's portrayal in the West. The list of the A-Listers invited include Matt Damon, Oprah Winfrey, producer Brian Grazer and others.
