Singer Seal is refusing to remove his wedding ring after his split from Heidi Klum because it will forever serve as a token of respect for his former partner.
The singer and his wife of eight years stunned the world when they confirmed reports of a split at the weekend, but the Brit admits there is still a lot of love between them.
In a taped interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which will aired on Tuesday, Seal says, "I am still wearing my ring. I think it's just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together.
"Just because we have decided to separate doesn't necessarily mean you take off your ring and you're no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways 'til the rest of our lives (sic)... through our children and also through this tremendous admiration, respect and love that we have for each other.
"Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand, so I have no intentions of taking it off anytime soon."

Britney Spears to regain control of affairs before wedding...
Britney Spears' conservatorship is set to be dropped as she prepares to wed for the third time, according to reports.
The "Toxic" hitmaker's father Jamie was handed control of her personal and financial affairs following her much publicized breakdown in 2008.
She has since got her life on track - she's released her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, and toured the world to promote the release.
Her longtime boyfriend and former agent Jason Trawick marked the end of her 2011 trek by proposing last month - and as the pair plans its wedding, Britney is set to regain control of her own affairs.
A source reveals, "Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries."
She has been married twice before - to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline. Her marriage to Alexander lasted just 55 hours and she divorced Federline, the father of her two sons, in 2007.
Carrey's daughter competing on 'American Idol'...
Jim Carrey's daughter Jane is setting her sights on becoming the next "American Idol."
The new mother was revealed as a contestant on the show on Sunday night when she took part in the pre-taped auditions in San Diego, California.
Jane performed "Something to Talk About" in front of judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson who all voted her through to the next round of the current competition.
The young singer confessed she has found it hard growing up as Jim Carrey's daughter, stating, "It is difficult kind of growing up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world underneath this huge shadow."
Lopez in particular was stunned when she hit the audition stage onboard the U.S.S. Midway - because she was a dancer on Jim's comedy show "In Living Color" when Jane was a baby.
The pop star cooed, "I remember you when you were little. Do you remember me? I was one of the Fly Girls."
Jane responded, "I think I was, like, two."

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are said to be worth $152 million and boast homes around the globe, but Kelly always turns down financial gifts from the couple.
She comments, "I haven't taken a penny from my parents since I was 15. Since I was a kid, I've been determined not to be the spoiled brat daughter of super-rich showbiz parents."
Kelly, 27, has carved out a successful TV career for herself, co-presenting E! Entertainment's popular "Fashion Police" show.
Alba urges Beyonce to sell baby snaps...
Jessica Alba has advised new mother Beyonce to sell pictures of her baby daughter to the press in a bid to quell the huge interest in snaps of the tot.
The "Sin City" star struck a deal with a magazine to publish pictures of her daughter Honor after her birth in 2008 to prevent a surge in attention from the paparazzi.
Jessica, who put the fee aside for the youngster's future, has now urged the "Crazy In Love" superstar to follow her lead so she can "control" the rush for the first snap of her own child, baby Blue who was born earlier this month.
She tells CNN, "For our family, we just wanted to control the experience. We put the money that the picture made into a bank account for Honor to do whatever she wants to do with.
"It's her picture, it's her birth, and we didn't want it to be like a weird thing when we were walking out of the house for the first time."
She added, "To each his own... I'm sure Beyonce will make the best decision for her family."

The "30 Rock" star is known for his bulky frame, but he decided to get healthy last autumn when he adopted a new food and exercise regime - and it's working wonders for his body.
Alec, who's dating yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas, reveals, "I do Pilates, spin, not as much yoga as I�d like. When we're shooting '30 Rock' it's tough... When we're shooting and I can't work out, I just have to eat less. So, I'm very conscious of that. But sugar was the real killer for me - that was the problem."
