Celebrity Nooz - January 5, 2016
Here's the Scoop...
I've got a story here that really shocked me. Not the one about Britney Spears getting stuck to a tree during her concert. It's the one that's about American Idol. That show is still on the air!? You could have knocked me over with a feather.
Is Mannix still on, too?

Britney Spears detached from tree after concert harness malfunction
Britney Spears experienced a halting mishap during a Las Vegas concert Saturday when her harness became attached to a large stage prop.
The famed pop star was performing her hit "Toxic" at her residency in Planet Hollywood when she became stuck to an onstage tree, keeping her grounded during a section in the concert when she was supposed to be sent soaring over the audience.
Luckily, a video obtained by TMZ shows Spears was detached from the tree by a stage hand. She then continued on with her show.
Spears shared a recent photo on Instagram showing off a bruise not coming from her harness malfunction, but her New Year's Eve celebrations. The singer posted a selfie featuring a bruised forehead, writing "Good morning 2016! Don't mind the little bruise on my forehead... Ran into a pole."

Ashley Benson was told she's 'too fat' for role
Ashley Benson was recently told she was too fat for a role.
The 26-year-old actress revealed as much in an interview for the January issue of Ocean Drive. Benson, who started modeling at age 8, told the magazine she's learned to ignore such comments in ever-critical Hollywood.
"I was just told I was too fat for a part," the star revealed. "I'm a size 2! I cried for 30 minutes, but then you have to let it roll off your shoulders or it could cause a serious eating disorder."
"A lot of people in this industry hear they need to lose weight more times than they should," she acknowledged. "It does make you stronger, though. Because if you let that affect you, you can't be in this industry -- you'd go crazy."
Benson discussed other pressures last year with Cosmopolitan, telling the publication she and other young stars are often pushed to appear nude on-screen. She admitted it's "easy to get talked into doing those things," but said she makes it "clear" she has "a line."
"I never want to do nudity that's gratuitous," she said. "But some people will do anything to get out there. It's crazy that someone can make millions of dollars and have a whole career from a sex tape. But for everyone like that, there's someone like Selena [Gomez], who's classy and holds herself together."
Benson's story about her weight comes amid continued concern about Hollywood beauty standards. Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher is one star who recently stood up to body shamers, telling fans they should place emphasis on women's brains and not their looks.
Benson is best known for playing Hanna Marin on ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars, which will return from mid-season break Jan. 12. The drama co-stars Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisario, and airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Which future hip-hop megastar performed 'Gold Digger' during his 'American Idol' audition?
Of course it was Kanye West! In a new clip of the upcoming 15th and final season of American Idol, Kanye West is seen auditioning for the competition series much to the judges delight.
The video released by E! News Monday, shows a smiling West playing the part of an unknown artist trying to get noticed through the show. The judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. played along as well pretending to be unaware who West was.
"My name is Kanye, I'm from the south side of Chicago," the rapper says while introducing himself. "I'm originally a producer. I always wanted to rap and no one really believed in me, so I wanted to try some things out, ya know?"
A pregnant Kim Kardashain was along for the ride as well to support her husband mentioning to host Ryan Seacrest "I'm not really nervous because I do really believe in him. I didn't give any advice on singing, rapping. I just really believe in him."
West chose to perform his hit-single from 2005 "Gold Digger" since "it has one of the judges names in it," referring to Lopez. After performing a cappella version of the song, the 38-year-old was then granted Idol's signature golden ticket without much deliberation.
The final season of American Idol premieres Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
West was recently named GQ's Most Stylish Man for the second year in a row after earning more fan votes then runner-up Lucky Blue Smith.
