Bob Barker to celebrate 90th birthday on 'Price is Right'

U.S. television icon Bob Barker is to celebrate his 90th birthday with a special appearance on his former game show "The Price is Right," CBS said. The show will pay homage to Barker throughout the week of Dec. 9-13. "Each day, the show will feature pet adoptions, a cause dear to Barker's heart, leading up to his big day, Thursday, Dec. 12, when he'll surprise the studio audience with a rare appearance and present a special showcase," CBS said in a news release.
Drew Carey has been the show's host since Barker retired in 2007. Barker started out on the show in 1972.


Chris Brown checks into rehab after weekend assault arrest

Chris Brown's publicist says the troubled U.S. singer is in rehab. Brown, 24, was arrested last weekend for an altercation with a man in Washington while still on probation for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. "Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility," his representative said in a statement to People.com Tuesday.
"His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point." The publicist did not divulge where Brown is seeking treatment, how long he will be there or what specific issues he wants to address.

Katharine McPhee upset by kissing scandal, report says

U.S. singer and actress Katharine McPhee is upset photos off her kissing married director Michael Morris were published online, People.com said. McPhee has been separated from her husband, Nick Cokas, for six months. Morris' wife, actress Mary McCormack, reportedly kicked him out of the house after he told her the images were about to hit the Internet last week. "This is a very hard time for her," an insider close to McPhee told the celebrity magazine. "She's very upset," the source said. "Katharine cares about Michael. But she still cares about Nick too. She didn't mean for anyone to be hurt."

Guy Fieri's publicist says fight was 'bunch of guys messing around'

Guy Fieri's publicist is downplaying an alcohol-fueled altercation the celebrity chef had with his hairdresser in a car in San Francisco last weekend. TMZ posted video showing Ariel Ramirez punching Fieri through the open door of an SUV, then Fieri kicking Ramirez, while both scream expletives at each other. The celebrity news website said the clip doesn't show how the fracas ends, but quotes unnamed sources as saying Fieri threw Ramirez out of the vehicle after which Fieri's manager took Ramirez home by cab. TMZ said the trio had been drinking on their flight to San Francisco. "A bunch of guys were messing around. Things got a little out of hand, but they're all good now," Fieri's representative told the celebrity news website.
