James 1:12-16
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has
been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the
Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God";
for God cannot be tempted by evil, not does He Himself
tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn
away by his own desires and enticed.
Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do
not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

When Jesus fasted and prayed in the wilderness for forty
days, He was tempted by the devil. It is hard to imagine
how weak and weary He must have been after that length of
time, yet He resisted the lures that Satan offered Him.
Temptations are sure to come. When we are at some weak point
in our lives, that is the time to beware, for Satan is sure
to cast his line in an attempt to draw us away from our
calling.
Our reward for resisting temptation is the crown of life!
