Greetings fellow Bizarros:

I just read a story that I did not believe until I read it from several different sources (and it still may be a hoax), but it seems a father in New York may have his child taken away from him because he refused the toddler's demands for McDonald's.

David E. Schorr says psychologist Marilyn Schiller pronounced him incapable of caring for his nearly 5-year-old son after he offered a choice - dinner anywhere but McDonald's, or no dinner at all - and let the boy choose the latter. He then took his irate son home to the boy's mother's house.

Schorr, an attorney, is in the midst of a contentious divorce with estranged wife Bari Yunis Schorr. Schiller was court-assigned to evaluate the couple and their child.

"Normally not a very strict father who rarely refuses his child McDonald's," Schorr put his foot down "because his son had been eating too much junk food," the suit said.

He quickly regretted his stance when his son threw a tantrum, but he felt that giving in would reward bad behavior.

Schiller told a judge the fast food flap "raises concerns about the viability" of the father's weekend visits with his son and asked a judge to eliminate or limit them.

Now, if the father had told his son he could only have McDonald's or nothing, I would understand this story, but how can the state try to penalize a father for finally trying to be a responsible parent.

If the child had demanded to eat rat poison and the father refused, Lord knows, the state would have charged him with emotional abuse!

Bizarrely,
Lewis

*-- Swedish school switches from meatballs to meat cubes --*

TRELLEBORG, Sweden - Workers at a Swedish school said officials gave them approval to switch from traditional round meatballs to meat cubes. Cafeteria workers at Soderslstt High School in Trelleborg said constantly rolling thousands of meatballs by hand was both time-consuming and potentially injury-causing due to the strain it put on their wrists, The Local.se reported Thursday. Kitchen staff chief Anna Malmberg said workers were given the go-ahead to cut the mince into small cubes instead of having to roll it into balls. "One of the students told us they were the ugliest meatballs he'd ever seen, but the tastiest ones," Malmberg told the Trelleborgs Allehanda newspaper.

*-- Saudi bride divorced for secretly recording wedding night --*

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - A Saudi man divorced his wife after she allegedly videoed their wedding night and left the recording in their hotel room, news website Okaz al-Youm reported. The bride, whose name wasn't reported, allegedly placed a camera in the couple's hotel room without informing her new husband and recorded more than 50 minutes of their intimate interactions, Gulf News reported Thursday. When the couple left the hotel room, the bride left the camera behind and it was discovered by a hotel employee. The employee, whose name wasn't reported, viewed the recording and allegedly posted it online, Gulf News said. Police arrested the couple and the hotel employee, and though the groom was freed, both the bride and hotel employee remained in custody pending an investigation, Gulf News said. The groom divorced his bride, citing a violation of his privacy.

After reading the comment about the Polish man who found his wife working in the Brothel. I believe most will feel the husband is more trouble than the wife. Here she is working her ass off trying to make some extra money for the family while he's spending the extra money on prostitutes. -Chuck

Hey Lewis! I read about this in the Armchair Reader book "Weird, Scary & Unusual". During a soccer match in 1976, player Chris Nicholl scored four goals in the game. If he'd had a better sense of direction, his team would have won. The game was a 2-2 tie. He scored all four goals including for the other team TWICE! Your fan always, Jody
[If anybody in the U.S. cared about soccer this would be a much funnier story.]

One of the tricks of the "anti-gun" lobby is to include large city gang illegal gun shootings as something to support gun control. These kids will continue to get guns regardless of the laws. It isn't a support for gun laws. It is really a support for stop, question and frisk gang members in New York. Baseball bats and knives are a common weapon. Most common if you remove gang wars and organized crime. More common than rolling pins. Possibly.
[They want to bring "stop and frisk" to Chicago now. I don't know if it will reduce gun violence in the city, but it will certainly generate a lot of lawsuits.]
