Greetings fellow Bizarros:
Do you know how some people refuse to go to the doctor
because they like to think that as long as they don't know
there is a problem, the problem doesn't exist?
I think that is the attitude they had in Tennessee about
bestiality. They figured as long as there were no laws
against it, it probably wasn't going on.
Well, two years ago, the Tennessee legislature put into
statute what most people assumed should go without saying;
it is illegal to have sex with an animal. They didn't have
long to wait before that law would be put to the test. No
less than three bestiality cases have come up in separate
Tennessee counties in recent months.
Plenty of people cracked jokes about the bestiality bill
when it came up in the legislature. But District Attorney
General Mike Bottoms said he's not sure what he could have
charged the defendants in these cases with if the statute
hadn't been on the books.
"There are laws against cruelty to animals, but they dealt
more into the neglect of the animals, which wasn't the case
here," Bottoms said.
Well, if you called it anything it wouldn't be neglect.
For the first year the new law was on the books, the
Administrative Office of the Courts has no record of anyone
in Tennessee being charged with bestiality. That changed
in May, when Nashville police got a tip that led them to a
couple who had images on their computer of the two of them
performing sex acts on a dog.
The woman was given a suspended sentence. The man, who told
police he met his girlfriend "on the Internet and she is into
bestiality," is still awaiting trial.
Bizarrely,
Lewis

----------- Microbrewery selling beer soap -------------
CHICAGO - A Chicago microbrewery is branching its beer
business into the bathroom with a soap that lists beer
as its main ingredient. The Half Acre Beer Company said
the beer soap, which sells for $6 a bar, is a hot item
at the brewery store, with two-thirds of the stock sold
in only 10 days, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday.
The soap was invented by Jim Gregory, 22, a senior at
Indiana's Hanover College. Gregory and his company,
Grandma Gee's, say "macronutrients" in the beer are good
for the skin and hair. Gregory said the soap also contains
lavender, bergamot and menthol to keep the yeasty smell
of beer at bay.

Lewis -- How many rabbits must you burn to create enough heat
to cook one rabbit for dinner? -David
[Good question.]
"In Boris Karloff's second big monster flick The Mummy, he had
to be wrapped every day in linen and gauze, and was covered
with mud." A lot of women pay good money for that, but with
seaweed instead of guaze and linen.
[I know what you mean. My wife has gone several times for the
Karloff special at her favorite spa.]
Hi, Lewis! Common misconception: Boris Karloff (real name:
William Henry Pratt) never played Frankenstein - he played
the monster that Frankenstein created. -Allan
Lewis, I love reading the Bizarre laws in your newsletter.
i came across one that I find rather disturbing but i cant
quite put my finger on why. Maybe someone might help me with
it. Kisses, Kelly. In Schulter, Oklahoma, it is illegal for
a woman to gamble in the nude, in lingerie, or while wearing
a towel.
[What kind of draconian police state do they have in Schulter?
Women should be ENCOURAGED to gamble in the nude! Some of the
first boobies I ever saw were while playing strip poker as a
teenager. How are adolescent boys ever going to learn about
the opposite sex?]
