When first learning about makeup, it's so easy to do the wrong things. Apply makeup the wrong way, mix colors the wrong way, not doing enough research, not testing different brands, etc. Here are some big dos and don'ts I have found!

Dos:

First of all, make sure your hands are clean before applying or handling any make up! It will minimize the transfer of germs.

Make sure that your moisturizer is absorbed completely before applying your foundation or any other makeup. If you don't allow it to absorb then your makeup will absorb into your skin with the moisturizer, or it will give you a flawed look to your makeup.

Replace your makeup regularly. In a previous article, I detailed how to tell when your makeup has gone bad. Bad makeup can breed germs, causing breakouts and infections.

Research the colors that work with your complexion. Research the best way to highlight your features as well to maximize the effect of the makeup, without putting on piles of makeup every day.

Start your makeup routine with a great cleanser! If you use it before applying makeup and after taking off makeup, it will make your skin feel better while wearing the makeup.

Don'ts:

Don't share makeup products with other people. That is another way to breed germs in your makeup and also spreading them to other people.

Don't go to bed with your makeup on. It is unhealthy for your skin and can cause irritation from prolonged coverage.

Don't be afraid to try new colors and styles! We find what looks and works best with us by experimenting! Sometimes it may be a dud, but sometimes it will surprise you!

Make sure to Blend! By ensuring that there are no harsh lines and everything is blended properly, it will ensure a flawless look!

Don't go overboard! Honestly, the worst mistake a girl can make is putting too much make-up on their face. Keep it subtle, but striking!
