Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy -- meditate on these things.
Greetings Bible Enthusiast!
A reader is suffering from depression, and wanted to know what s/he could do about the barrage of negative thoughts that chase away sleep and haunt nightime hours. The scripture given today is a great place to start. It is very difficult to think about two things at once. Consequently, when you MAKE yourself think about lovely things, (recite aloud to yourself ways in which God has blessed you, for example), there will not be room for negative thoughts. Reading scripture or inspirational literature will also help you focus on positive thoughts.
God Bless You!

--FEATURED FUNNY:
Playing golf with his buddies, George had to make a slick 25-foot putt. As he lined it up, he announced, "I have a dollar bill that says I can make this putt. Does anyone want to bet?"
His three friends eagerly agreed to the wager. Too bad, George missed the putt by ten feet, and his friends gathered around to collect their money.
George pulled out a dollar bill on which he had written, 'I can make this putt.'
His pals are still trying to collect on the bet...and George is too.

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:
Q. Why did God not allow David to build the temple?
A. Because David had been a man of war and had shed blood.
Then King David rose to his feet and said, "Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations to build it. But God said to me, 'You shall not build a house for My name, because you have been a man of war and have shed blood
