But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Galatians 1:8-9

These are very sobering words when you consider what Paul is actually saying here. How many of us would be awestruck if something that looked like an angel from heaven appeared to us; the tendency would be to believe whatever he would say.

But Paul is clear: "If even an angel from heaven preaches any other gospel than what had already received, let him be accursed."

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

What is the relationship between angels, Satan, and demons? They are all referred to as the "sons of God", Satan being the angel who rebelled and was cast out, taking one third of all the angels with him. (See Revelation 12:3-9)

There are some passages of scripture in the Old Testament referring to the sons of God, that Paul later translates in the New Testament as the angels of God.

Interestingly angels are always male, depicted as mighty warriors of God, never as women, and certainly never as chubby little babies with wings!

God Bless You!

"Obedience is much more seen in little things than in great."

--FEATURED FUNNY:

When his pager went off during a council meeting in Knoxville, Tenn., police chief Phil Keith was startled to see that the call was from his mother. Concerned, he rushed to the press table and phoned her.

"Phil Kieth, are you chewing gum?" asked his mom, who had been watching the council meeting on cable TV.

"Yes, ma'am."

"Well, it looks awful. Spit it out." Keith dutifully removed the gum and went back to his meeting.

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Can you always trust something that looks like an angel of light?

A. no

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light.

2 Corinthians 11:13-14

The significance of this scripture cannot be overstated! Satan can appear as an angel of light! It is particularly sobering when you consider how inundated our society is with "angel" images, appearances, and stories. They are not necessarily to be trusted!
