Proverbs 3:11-12

My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor detest His correction;
For whom the LORD loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.


Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Sometimes this is a difficult concept to grasp. "I thought that only good can come from a loving God," you may be thinking. Clearly the chastening of the Lord is a good thing, although at the time it may seem grievous to you. Remember, however, that mercy triumphs over judgment, and the Lord will never give you more than you can bear.
