Genesis 50:18-20

Then (Joseph's) brothers also went and fell down before his
face, and they said, "Behold, we are your servants." Joseph
said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of
God?

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant
it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day,
to save many people alive."

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

The story of Joseph and his brothers is a major part of the
foundation of Israelite history; from them the twelve tribes
of Israel were established; and from one of them, Judah, our
Lord Jesus was descended.

It is an amazing story of hatred and love, revenge and for-
giveness, sorrow and joy. The book of Genesis ends with the
death of Joseph, while the book of Exodus begins with the
captivity of his family's descendants in Egypt.

God Bless You!

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. To whom was Joseph sold, and for how much?

A. Ishmaelites, for twenty shekels of silver

Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled
Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to
the Ishmaelites for twenty shedels of silver. And they
took Joseph to Egypt.

Genesis 37:28

The Bible records that the brothers smeared sheep blood on
Joseph's cloak and brought it to Jacob letting him assume
that Joseph had been killed by wild animals.

They all lived with this terrible lie for many years,
letting their father mourn. What a bitter price they paid
for their hatred.
