In the last Looking Good we talked about some beauty hacks to avoid. This week, we're continuing that theme. Below are some more beauty hacks to avoid.
-Glitter- We all like to sparkle a bit, but putting too much glitter on can cause infections in your eyes, irritate your eyes in general, and not to mention, never really goes away! Less is better when it comes to glitter and if you're wanting some sparkle, try to find eye shadow with glitter in it. Do not use glitter eyeliner, that is too close to your eyes!
-Lip Gloss anywhere but your lips- Lip gloss is sticky and when you put it under your eye shadow or your eye lashes, it will cause that area to become sticky and the products you put over them will not stay on. For a shiny look, get products with a shiny finish instead.
-Foundation- Foundation is a great tool, but remember to match it to your face and neck, not your hand. Your hand does not have the same exact coloring as your face and neck so it will not be the right colors.
-Freezing or Burning your eyeliner pencil- When you melt your eyeliner it will clump, or it will not have even coloring. When you freeze it, it doesn't work any better than room temperature eyeliner. For more dramatic looks, get liquid or gel eyeliners.
-Popping Pimples- Instead of popping pimples, put a dab of acne cream on it and keep them free of dirt and grime. Popping pimples can spread the infection under the skin, as well as cause scars!
-Using excessive amounts of makeup- When you use tons of makeup you're adding more chemicals to your skin, it can cause breakouts and allergic reactions, and can even cause lines on your face! Keep it simple.
-Bold Lips and Eyes- If you can find the right combination, going bold with both your lips and your eyes can be great, but on a normal day, make only one of these stand out for an easier daily routine.
-Washing your face excessively- Your skin produces healthy oils when you sleep and when you wash your face right in the morning, you're washing away the natural oils. Instead, try to wash your face before bed instead.
Remember, even with these things to avoid, to break the rules every now and again and see what works for you!
