Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Last issue we started to study baptism. The book of Acts is a great place to look for examples!

In Acts 8:35-38, it tells the story about an Ethiopian, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians:

"Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at the following scripture preached Jesus to him.

["He was led as a sheep to the slaughter;
And as a lamb before its shearer is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
In His humiliation His justice was taken away,
And who will declare His generation?
For His life is taken from the earth."
Acts 8:32-33]

Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?"

Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may."

And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him."

God Bless You!

--TODAY'S NOT SO TRIVIAL TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Yesterday we saw that in Revelation, the fourth seal revealed a rider named 'death.' Who followed with him?

Answer below.

------------------------------------------------------------

--DAILY BIBLE VERSE:

Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38-39

--TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:

A true Christian's enthusiasm for the Lord Jesus Christ should be so exuberant that it would be far more likely to set others on fire than to be extinguished by worldly influences. Have a Christianity that is contagious.

--FEATURED FUNNY:

A man's most memorable experience was the famous Johnstown flood. He never stopped talking about it. When he died and went to heaven, he asked if he could tell the people about his experiences. Peter told him he thought it could be arranged. "But you must remember," he cautioned, "that Noah will be in the audience."

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Who followed with death?

A. Hades.

When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him.

Revelation 6:7-8
