Greetings...

UGH! Murphy's Law strikes again! The compressor on one of the air
conditioners went POOF yesterday. Luckily, (if there is such a thing
when something like this happens), it was the one for upstairs. The
college grad showed up for a few days and noticed it was getting hotter
up there even though he kept lowering the thermostat. He went back home,
we called the serviceman and he gave us the "good" news. He was able to
get the replacement part quickly and installed it the next day. In colder
climates, the heating units usually go out when it's colder than cold. In
Arizona, you know when and if the air conditioner is going to go, it won't
go until the temperature is at least 110 outside!

We did get some much needed rain that lasted longer than five minutes,
which made the poochies very happy. As soon as it started raining, they
shot out of the house and before you could say, "the Moose is loose",
they were running full speed all over the place, the wetter they got, the

cooler they got and of course, the cooler they got, the faster they went!

I know when this happens I am going to have quite a bit of floor cleaning
to do when they finally get tired, come in and plop down for a short five
hour nap, but I know how excited we humans get around here when it rains
and Flyboy and I always go on the patio to feel raindrops hit us in the
face, so why would I take that away from my pups? What I didn't expect
to find all over the floor after they came in was...

Blood!

There were drops of blood by the patio door and a rather large spot of
blood next to the drops. The throw rug had blood on it as well as the
patio. We immediately went over to Moosie and Ginger to find out which
one was bleeding and where the blood was coming from. Ginger was fine,
but Moosie's back foot had blood on it even though we couldn't see an
obvious cut. We finally saw a cut on the back pad of her foot. We cleaned
it off and put some antibiotic ointment on it. We watched her and although
you could tell it was a little sore, it didn't bleed again, even when
she chased Ginger around the dining room a few hours later. She's such
a tough pooch and never bothered by much. I'll be keeping an eye on it
to make sure she's OK...

And before I go, I'll just answer my response to the loads of emails
I received regarding the Southwest Airlines passenger that got "booted"
off a flight for being too skinny...

Yeah right...Another case of someone trying to get their 15 minutes of
fame, free airline tickets, and no doubt, appearances on talk shows...

She was booked on another flight, she wanted to leave earlier, asked to
go on the flight she ended up having to get off, and as is policy, was
allowed to go standby, which means if there are seats, you can go. The
issue became "ugly" when she asked to de-plane because an unaccompanied
minor, who happened to be overweight and in need of two seats boarded
the plane, which took the one remaining seat that the woman would have
been allowed to have had the circumstances been different...

The woman caused a stink, claims she was treated rudely and I'll just
leave that one alone because no one heard what she had to say. Make that
"no one reading this". The woman was put on a different flight that arrived
two hours earlier than the one she had to vacate...

How was she so inconvenienced and "wounded" by this experience? The issue
again is the passenger that had to "ride" was an unaccompanied minor and
if this woman had any children, she would have, or should have considered
why she had priority. Both were ticketed, one was ticketed on another
flight, yet allowed to board a different flight on standby status. Things

happen, get a grip and to make this a size issue is nothing more than a ploy
to grab media attention, which she did...

I hope the media gets the rest of the story about how she caused such a scene
when she was asked to leave, or how she made the kid cry by belittling that

child and calling the child fat! Yessiree folks, I hope the media talks to
the other passengers who heard this woman's tirade and ignorant comments...

The customer is NOT always right...
