Greetings...

Was that a great Super Bowl game or what? Even though my Bears were nowhere in sight, I enjoyed the game for a few reasons. Eli and his team won, (sorry Patriot fans), and because it was a GOOD game, not a one-sided beating by one team that makes you lose interest in the game itself. You know it's a good game when it comes down to the last play of the game! If anyone would ask me why I didn't root for the Patriots, it would be the same reason why I always root against them, I can't stand Tom Brady OR his wife Gisele Budweiser <--------------- intentional misspelling...

Not ever being a Madonna fan, I wasn't expecting to enjoy the half-time show as much as I did. Sure, she lip synced the whole thing, but given the vocal mess the Black Eyed Peas gave us last year, it was OK...

Her show, however, was pretty darn good, (I thought). From her opening entrance until the end, it was a flashy, but great performance. The other singers she performed with were good, with a major shout-out to Cee Lo Green. The performance of the night, (in my opinion)...

At 53, no one can argue that Madonna is in fantabulous shape. Sure, you could see that she has slowed down and her moves are a little more guarded, and she almost fell coming up the stairs, but wearing shoes under 12 inches high could have hidden some of this, but the style seems to be high high high heels to the point I wonder how many women get nose bleeds that far up in the air...

Rapper MIA was the only negative in the performances. Why she felt the need to flip the bird to the cameras and mouth the words, "I don't give a sh**" is beyond my comprehension, other than to get free publicity and show why rappers have a reputation for...everything...

Kudos upon kudos to Kelly Clarkson for the beautiful job she did with the national anthem. She didn't feel the need to change the tune or add screaming screetches that way too many singers feel the need to do...

I love Blake Shelton, but didn't care for he and his wife's rendition of America the Beautiful. This isn't a singing competiton where they tell you to "make it your own". Just sing the dang song the way it should be sung!!!

(Rant over)

Super Bowl commercials are always the second, (or first if you hate football) reason to watch the game. My favorite? Big shock here... Doritoes and the Great Dane...

Since football is my favorite sport, I always feel sad when the Super Bowl is over. That means I have to wait a whole year to watch my beloved Bears get tanked again...

:-)
