February 7, 2011

Greetings...

Congrats to the Green Bay Packers for their Super Bowl win last night!
I wasn't quite sure who I was going to cheer for when I sat down to
watch the game, but quickly chose Green Bay within minutes of the coin
toss...

I was still trying to rid my ears of the horrible rendition of the Star
Spangled Banner by Christina Aquillera. Not only did she mess up the
words to the anthem, but decided, like so many others who sing the song,
that the song sounds better when they add runs and screeching to it! No
matter how many try, they never get the fact that it is NOT an R & B
song. The girl can sing like no other, it's too bad last night's performance
didn't do her or the National Anthem justice...

Speaking of performances, I was looking forward to the half-time show with
the Black Eyed Peas, who I usually enjoy. I don't know what any of you
think, but I think they stunk! Their vocals were off and Fergie started to
give me a headache 1/3 of the way and toally ruined the classic Sweet Child
O Mine with Slash. I guess this is why so many performers lip sync these
days, they can't sing live without a studio cleaning up their voices!

The second, (or first) reason to watch the Super Bowl is the commercials.
There were some good ones, some not so good, and some downright "disturbing".
My favorite? Little Darth Vader. Absolutely loved that one!

Since Flyboy was gone, it was just me and my girls at home for the game. I
decided to have our own Super Bowl party and made them some Bagel Dogs. Nah,
they aren't spoiled...

Flyboy got home late last night and we will be having another Bowl party
today, nah, not football, the Puppy Bowl!!!

I taped it like I do every year and can't resist those adorable pups
horsing around together. Moosie and Ginger always watch it with us until
they decide they would rather chase each other around since they can't
reach in and grab one of those puppies!

I'm sad that football is officially over, it's my favorite sport. So, what
did you think of last night's festivities?

:-)
