Greetings...

Two things you never discuss. Politics and Religion. Sure, I've
talked about both on occasion and always expect not only negative
emails, but downright nasty comments. It seems that in a country that
prides itself on freedom of speech, the rest of the world has to be
calling us hypocrites with a capital "H" this week...

Even though I know my next request will fall on deaf ears, I'll
ask in advance. Today's column isn't about Democrats or Republicans,
so if possible, save yourself some time and not use today's column
as a way to send hateful rhetoric against one party or the other.
I won't read it and I will remove any posts that show any disrespect
to any other poster...

Yeah, I'm in a "mood" and here's the reason...

While I might not be the oldest living human being, I have to say that =

in my lifetime up to now, I don't remember a sadder time for our country.=

By sadder, I'm not talking war, 9-11, or Oklahoma City. Believe it or
not, those sad times brought our country and our people together. The
sadness I feel right now is riding side-saddle with anger towards those=

who have taken a political disagreement and turned it into a very dangero=

"call to arms" so to speak because of the disagreements. The hatred a=

disrespect shown against our President goes beyond irrational and before=

anyone says that President Bush had to deal with the same thing, look at=

the difference between jokes at his expense and threats...

This didn't just start, it has been simmering for the past few years and=

you can't feel sadness without feeling fear at the way things are going.=

I've watched news stories where government sessions in other countries =

erupt in total chaos with pushing, shoving and punches thrown. I admit,=

it was amusing watching it, but it's not so funny when your own policy =

makers go on a public tirade against each other...

We need to "wake up"! Most of these big-mouthed politicians that ar=

inciting violence and bad blood have ONE agenda and that's to be

I have no solution and I'm truly afraid that something really tragic
is going to take place with the way things are going, and then what?
Will be history be made and something we will be forever ashamed of?

History always repeats and we've certainly been ashamed at some of our =

past actions...

We haven't learned a thing...
