Greetings...
Flyboy and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary over the
weekend. (Sunday, the 31st, to be exact). To an older generation
that celebrate 30, 40, or 50 years together, it sounds like a
mere speck of time. To a younger generation that has witnessed,
or experienced a 50% and higher divorce rate without ever making
it nine years, it may seem like a long time...
To us? It feels like both!

We often joke about being together for 30 years, and to someone

I'm a realist when it comes to everything and while I may have
thought my marriage would last forever the first time I got married,
I can blame it on being nineteen and being a different time. That
marriage didn't last and the divorce rate continued to grow every
year...
Statistically, the divorce rate among divorced people who remarry
is extremely high. Children aren't the only cause for this, but
trust me, it is a huge issue when trying to weld families together...
Because of statistics, I had no illusions that my marriage to Flyboy
would be forever, I hoped, but didn't fool myself that it was written
in stone. I still hope for the same thing and have more of a feeling
of permanence than the day I got married. The reason?

best friend forever, and...
