Greetings...

A local high school teacher and choir coach was asked to give up her
teacher's position at one of our local high schools because she took
her students to lunch after they performed a Christmas concert...

Nah, it's not that simple of course. It's not the fact that they all
went to lunch, it's where they went to lunch that made her lose her job.=

She took her high school students to Hooters...

I'm sure most of you know Hooters is known for pretty waitresses dressed=

in skimpy shorts and of course, a nice set of...hooters...

One student felt uncomfortable dining there and declined to go next
door to Subway when other choir members offered to leave and go there
with him. He said he would just "deal with it"...

When he got home, he told his parents where he had lunch and told them =

Hooters wasn't planned, but because of the size of the group, it was the=

only place around that could accomodate the large group of diners. Of cou=

My first reaction, although it might not be the right one was, "Oh geee=
z, give
me a break"! These weren't junior high or younger kids, they were hig=
h
school kids. The boy that was uncomfortable was offered the option of NOT=

being uncomfortable and eating somewhere else. Even if you think the teac=
her
may be wrong and made a mistake, isn't losing a job over it as punishment=

a little extreme when a teacher who hacked off the braid of a student get=
s
a slap on the wrist?

While I might not want to go to Hooters, turning on the TV will give you=

a better view of the female anatomy and that's just watching a beer comme=
rcial!

Some of the choir students were interviewed and are upset at the way
the school board is handling it. They love her and feel she is not
only a good teacher, but a wonderful choir director...

Sometimes I just don't get all this PC crap. Real issues in this world =

regarding morality are ignored and something like this happens? Sorry, =

this one just doesn't sit well with me. Sure I beieve in religious
freedom, but you can't insulate your kids from everything and in fact, =

the more you forbid and preach against without teaching them that these=

things ARE out there and why it is or isn't immoral, you may be creating=

a smoldering fire that manifests itself eventually...

While Hooters may be bad, the punishment given to the teacher was far wor=
se
and I hope they reconsider this and in fact, the parents of the kid that=

stormed into the school's office take a chill pill, throw their TV away=

and live in a cave. Little Johnny will be safe from having his retinas =

burned from the sight of boobs...

This kid "dealt with it" alright, he helped a teacher lose her job on=
e week
before Christmas. My, my, what a way to spread Christmas joy...

The teacher was due to retire next month and a few minutes ago I heard sh=
e was
suspended and probably wouldn't be back...
