September 3, 2010

Greetings...

I have so much to do today, I hope you don't mind if I let someone else
take over for me today. She begged me to let her write today's column
and before she pouted and threw a temper tantrum, I relented. I will
check back in after she's done to make sure she didn't con anyone into
sending her a package of string cheese...

Herrrrrooooooooooo out there!!!

Coco, aka Moosie here. It's been a long, long time since mama has let
me talk to all of you because the last time I did, I signed up on a
doggy dating website and got into some trouble with a Cocker Spaniel
in Washington named Roscoe. He was such a smooth talker and when he
wanted to see a picture of me, I admit, I grabbed one off the Internet
of a petite, demure looking Poodle and the romance began...

I almost got away with it until mommy started checking up on my Internet
activity and found out what I was up to. She contacted Roscoe's mama
and not only ratted me out, but sent a picture of the real me to Roscoe
and his mama. The last thing I heard was Roscoe took one look at me and
piddled all over his mama's lap! I guess he wasn't looking for a big,
beautiful, buxom babe...

Ginger and I are a little tired of the heat around here. Big dogs get
lazy when it's this hot. Daddy must be a big dog...

Mommy does help me and Ginger cool off every morning when she comes
out and plays with us in the hose. We loveeeeeeeeeeeee playing "splash
me", although Ginger the wimp won't let mommy soak her like I do. She
will try to bite the stream of water, but if too much water gets her,
she runs in the house and that's it for her. I don't understand
it, but mommy calls Ginger the "Don Knotts" of dogs. As for me, the
wetter I get, the more energy I get, the more energy I get, the faster
I run, the faster I run, the bigger mommy's eyes get, especially when
I run towards her. Humans sure can make some funny faces! Mommy and I
end up soaked and don't tell her I said this, but...humans sure smell
bad when they get wet...

We have a swimming pool which mommy and daddy have tried to get us
into since we were puppies. Great Danes do not like to swim, not that
we can't, but I watch dogs on You tube swimming and I don't think they
look all that happy paddling away a hundred miles an hour and going
three feet. I'd much rather cover an acre in 10.5 seconds!!!

Even though Ginger is the scaredy cat, I will admit there is another
reason why we both don't want any part of the swimming pool. There's
a shark living in the pool, at least I think it is a shark. Ginger and
I saw it a few times when mommy and daddy were there and even I, Moosie
the magnigicent, got scared...

We were outside when mommy and daddy came outside. It looked like daddy
had something in his arm, but I couldn't tell. He went in the pool on the
step, turned his back to us and came back out. I think he came out because
he saw "it" too...

There was a fish of some kind, moving around the pool. The eyes were scarey
looking and glowing and flashing. The body had glowing and flashing looking
things on it too and it moved all around the pool. It would swim into the
wall (not too smart), and turn around in another direction...

Well, let me tell you, Ginger went insane and ahem, I went a little "wild"
myself. We ran around and around the pool trying to figure out what kind
of thing this was and it was only after watching Shark Week on Discovery
channel did I identify this killer fish...

We got close enough to touch it when it came to the edge of the pool and
when the tail hit Ginger in the nose, her four legs got separated from
the ground and for a split second, my sister was airborn...

This went on for quite a while and I was a bit dizzy from going around
and around and around the pool following this Shark. Daddy being the
brave one, went in the pool and wrestled the Shark and actually caught
it and saved all of us! Phew, I still have flashbacks of that thing's
eyeballs flashing at me!!!

Daddy is so proud of his catch he put it on the counter for all to see.
Every once in a while when we go near the counter with daddy, it comes back
to life!!!

Mommy just walked by and told me to "wrap it up", so I guess I better
listen, but if any of you know of any hot looking doggy dudes who like
their girlfriends sassy and big, and as mommy says, with a face that only
a mother could love.....pssssssst, call me...hehehehehehehehe

Until next time, this is Moosie, rover and out...

Folks in the East, be careful out there this weekend battling Hurricane
Earl and since it's Labor Day weekend, everyone enjoy what is considered
the final summer weekend and be safe!

Have a great weekend everyone!

:-)
