Greetings...

Whether you're a parent, a grandparent or just someone who is against
children being exploited for profit, the newest tactic by Abercrombie &
Fitch should disturb and enrage you...

Abercrombie & Fitch's preppy style of clothing has become a favorite
brand with teens and "tweens", kids between the ages of 8 and 14. That
particular female age group is the target audience for their new line
of bikinis that include a push-up triangle top which has thick padding
to give the illusion of a larger chest...

EXCUSE ME??????

What kind of parent will not only buy, but allow their "babies", and YES,
an eight year old is still a baby, to wear a padded bikini top to make
others think they have a "nice rack"? If a "stranger" gave this item to a
little girl, he/she would be arrested on suspicion of pedophilia!!!

The sexualization of teens is of concern, or should be as it is, but how
on Earth can anyone justify a purchase such as this? Is the nutcase parent
trying to make their kid look "sexy"?

Are they already giving their daughters the notion their bodies are imperfect
and leading them to a life of low self esteem? Do they think it's "cute" to
have their kids parade around a public pool or beach with their other second
grade friends, and yes, I said second grade given the ages this bikini is
being marketed to...

This bikini is part of the Abercrombie Kids summer collection and is sold
for $24.50. The bikini bottom sells for $19.50. What a "bargain" huh?

There has been outrage at this new line, but it's highly doubtful they will
discontinue selling the padded bra consdiering they sold a line of thongs
in 2002 that had the words "wink wink" and "eye candy". People complained
about the thongs, but they refused to recall the line which tells me the
tween thongs must have sold pretty darn well...

The company stated at that time that "'The underwear for young girls was
created with the intent to be lighthearted and cute. Any misrepresentation
of that is purely in the eye of the beholder".

Really? WE'RE the perverts if we find this objectionable???

I sincerely hope there is enough of an outcry over this to hit Abercrombie &
Fitch where it hurts, in the wallet...

It's WAY past time for parents to take back control from their own kids and
not give in to the whining and torturing that kids inevitably do when they
don't get their way, but giving in to something like this is asking for trouble
and why would any parent in their right mind want to risk the message that
a padded, push-up bra on an 8-14 year old will give to sickos, just waiting
to pounce? Anyone that would consider buying a padded, push-up bikini top
for their youngster should get something padded for themself, like a padded
cell!

This is more than maddening, it's....sad!
