Greetings...

I have to admit, the story I'm about to tell you had me more than a
little shocked. The excuse given for the incident, just doesn't seem
like a good enough excuse, even though a valid concern for many people...=


The incident?

A first grade student, a little girl, was playing with her braid while =

in class. The little girl was warned by the teacher to stop playing with=

her hair. When the little girl didn't listen, the teacher instructed the=

kid to come up to the desk for some candy and proceeded to cut off the br=
aid
and toss it in the garbage can while the rest of the class laughed and =

laughed...

The teacher then asked the little girl, and I quote, "Now what you gonn=

go home and say to your momma?"

The little girl's answer...

"That you cut off my hair."

The teacher has issued an apology and stated she was "frustrated" whe=
n she
did what she did. Although the school district isn't commenting on the =

specifics of this, they have also issued an apology...

The Distric Attorney has decided not to press charges, but police did iss=
ue
a $175.00 fine to the teacher...

Stress was given as a reason for the teacher's unreasonable behavior and=

I don't think you could find a person out there that doesn't have the utm=
ost
sympathy for today's teachers and some of the hardships and frustrations=

they have when having to deal with some of the kids of today, but...

Is this an excuse to do what she did and should a teacher who is so stres=
sed
that she would inflict such cruel punishement on a six or seven year old=

really be around these kids?

There isn't a job around that doesn't cause their employees some kind of=

stress on a daily basis. There are few people unaffected by stress given =

the various things going on today from jobs, family, finances, etc. Are =

we supposed to be able to fall back on that excuse whenever an inapproria=
te
behavior surfaces?

I can only imagine how scared and humiliated this poor little girl felt=

when this happened and although there will probably be some kind of lawsu=
it
over it, people need to stop thinking that money will make everything go=

away without ever addressing the bigger issues...

Maybe we could begin with teaching our kids from an early age that excuse=
s
and justification will never solve a problem, only continue a pattern tha=
t
makes no one accountable for their own actions...

Maybe it may stop victimizers from doing what they do while playing the=

constant victim...

And before I go, I just want to say a little more on the Tiger Woods stor=
y
based on a few comments on the blog. One of the comments asked why we car=
e,
and the other one states those of us in glass houses shouldn't throw ston=
es...

Why do we care? I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but I truthfu=
lly
don't give a rat's a** about Tiger Woods. While I'm sympathetic to his wi=
fe,
she'll be better than OK financially and better off than 99% of the women=

who have or are going through a similar situation...

Why the story bugged me wasn't the almighty Woods is crashing and burning=
,
it is because, as I originally stated, the growing trend among people, fa=
mous
and not, to show such little value in a committed relationship...

As for the stone throwing glass house. I have never been unfaithful, and=

certainly haven't had a string of lovers in various parts of the country,=

so I guess I'll just go Windex my windows so everyone can get a clear
vision in case they want to hurl some rocks...
