Greetings...
People are coming and going around here for the next week. The youngest=
one is here for a few weeks before heading back to Tucson to work for
NASA. Flyboy left this morning for Dallas for his six-month Captain
recurrent training and will be home Monday night. The college grad will=
be here Monday night and load up a truck with "stuff" for his new apa=
rtment
in Safford, Arizona. He and Flyboy will drive there on Tuesday, and Flybo=
y
will drive back home, then leave for work on Thursday...
As for me...
I'm heading to Chicago on Saturday to stay with my mom for a little over=
a week. My sister took a much needed vacation and headed to Hawaii for
=
some R and R...
Mom, as usual, told me I didn't need to go because she is more than
capable of being alone and taking care of herself. She is right, but...=
She has another eye infection which always scares us given her past eye=
problems and I would feel better if I was there with her and my sister

will have peace of mind and enjoy herself more if she knows mom is not

alone...

I haven't seen my mom since January and try to see her as often as I
can given her age and of course, the all consuming "guilt factor" I=

Greeeeeeeeeen! I love seeing all the trees, grass and the smells of
these things when I go back. I always take a ride and drive past my
old house, and of course, enjoy the foods of Chicago that are missing
in Arizona, such as White Castle hamburgers, GOOD pizza, Italian beef
sandwiches and one of my favorites, Greek salad. In Arizona, I have
given up trying to get a good Greek salad. They throw a chunk of Feta

cheese over lettuce and "Poof" it's supposed to be a Greek salad!=

Of course, my mom has already asked if a casino trip will be in the plans=
and I told her I won't take the chance of her eye getting worse in a
casino environment...
And then a miracle happened right then and there...
She told me her eye didn't bother her one bit anymore...
Bless her heart, but I'll wait to see what the doctor says first before=
agreeing to it...
So, the next time you hear from me, I will be in the suburbs of Chicago=
with my mom.
