Greetings...

Here is another one of those "things" that you hear that not only makes
you shake your head, but question how and why things are the way they
are in today's world...

A vote was taken in the House of Representatives to close a loophole of
a bill that the Senate had already passed regarding inmates in federal
prisons and their cell phones. According to federal law, cell phones and
wireless gadgets aren't classified as contraband and were allowed in
prisons, used by not only killers, but drug dealers!

The law just echoes a hard-lined bill that the Senate passed and my
question to you is why is there even a need for a law to be passed
to ban what should have been banned the day these thugs went to jail
in the first place?

The "reasoning" behind allowing prisoners to have cell phones in the
first place was because inmates have to call their friends and families
collect, which is expensive, to which I say...

SO??? They are in PRISON, not a Day Spa, and for every so-called "legit"
call to a family member, how many calls are being made to conduct "business"
while they are incarcerated? Plenty, according to various studies...

There is another part of the law that would also impose a one-year jail
sentence for anyone who provides cell phones to inmates. Why was there a
need to add that little "gem"?

Because one corrupt officer in California made $150,000 in one year selling
phones to inmates. Prisoners pay anywhere from $500-$1,000 to get their
hands on a phone. Are there ATM machines in everyone's cell?

This is one of many problems with correctional institutions. The criminal's
rights have removed all aspects of accountability and memory of why these
idiots are in prison in the first place. The fact that there are more and
more prisons being built and the ones built are severely overcrowded tell
you that these criminals haven't learned a lesson and don't fear being
locked up over and over again...

Say what you will about countries that seem "uncivilized" when it comes
to handing out punishment for some crimes. If you steal something and
get your hand cut off as a result, I'll just bet that there may be quite
a few people walking around with one hand, but very few walking around with
no hands!

Say what you want against our Sheriff Joe, but he has the right idea when
it comes to criminals. He believes they should be treated like the criminals
they are and not "hotel guests"...
