October 11, 2010

Greetings...

I have been trying to break a few habits since all the kids are
spread all over the place. I know I can't be alone and am hoping
some of you can help...

How long does it take to stop cooking enough to feed a third world
when there is only two of you?

How long does it take you to realize you no longer need to stockpile
toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent and everything else
you used to go through in days, not weeks or months?

I try to cook a little, but when I look at the amount in the pan, I
add more "whatever" because it looks like such a chintzy amount...

Flyboy teases me and reminds me that leftovers are OK for one day and
not meant to be a month long event...

Men are pretty amusing and Flyboy is no different. How anyone can ask,
"Do we have any toothpaste" when the cabinet below his sink has enough
to open a dental practice is beyond me...

I think I'm good on laundry detergent, and if the world does end in 2012
as the Mayans have predicted, at least I know the last thing I wear will
be clean...

I guess I should do some sort of inventory around here to find out
exactly what and how many of each thing I have...

Oh well, I could just concentrate on bulk shopping for Moosie and
Ginger. Never mind, they go through 40 pounds of dog food a week.
None of my cabinets are big enough to stockpile those bags...

So, any advice for someone who can't get out of the mindset of bulk
shopping and into the mindset of empty nest?
