June 28, 2010

Greetings...

This is one of those weeks I am going through some extreme highs and
a low that is a cycle of life...

The high is that Flypup arrived on Saturday from Baltimore for a week.
= He had a week of vacation and everyone knows that Arizona in June is
THE place to go! That aside, I think most of you have noticed I'm
always a happy camper when he comes to town!

The "low" I mentioned is that my youngest son, Dizzy, is leaving Ariz= ona
on Wednesday and going back to Chicago, where he will be taking a new
job opportunity and career. I'm so very happy for him, but can't help
but get choked up everytime I think of him being so far away and not
having him pop in every few days to say hello...

He and I moved to Arizona a little over 12 years ago to start a new
life and while things turned out very well for me along the way,
things have been tougher for him as far as finding his "niche". His=
talent has always been stronger than his ambition, but after getting
married this past January, he finally had to put his priorities in
place and this move is a result of that...

I have always joked about wanting the kids to leave the nest and I
admit I have enjoyed having the house to ourselves since the last one
= went off to college, but not having my two boys nearby and in fact,
thousands of miles away rips my heart out quite frankly...

I dread Wednesday and the good-bye that will come with that day. I
realize I'm no better or different than anyone else that has or will
go through this but as they say...I'm thinking about me at this time.
Hahaha...

Moosie and Ginger will also feel the loss as he has been their best
buddy and the one who babysits for them when mom is away, and on a
purely selfish note, I am going to have to find someone I trust to
watch the girls if I want to go away. Boarding them has rarely been
an option or something I like to do...

Having my oldest one here this week is a Godsend and I wonder if the
brothers secretely planned this to help "the old lady" through this=
week...

I'm glad Dizzy will be in Chicago where my mom and sister are. At least=
I know he will have family around...

So, this is one of those weeks that I hate to see come to an end and
the reason really is the same...

Saying good-bye to each one of my boys, on different days, not knowing
= when the next time we will all be together again...

Such is life...
