Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Recently a reader sent in a great little suggestion to help
us remember how many books are in the Bible. The Old Testament
contains 39 books, and the New Testament contains 27. All we
have to do is remember that 3 times 9 equals 27. Thanks for
the help!

Now all we need is a device for remembering the names of
all the books in the Bible! Any suggestions?

God Bless You!

Annie

--DAILY BIBLE VERSE:

Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test
all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form
of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you
completely;

and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved
blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who
calls you is faithful, who will also do it. Brethren, pray
for us.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-25

What powerful words of instruction and encouragement, ending
with Paul's request for prayer. We all need the prayers of
our brothers and sisters!

--FEATURED FUNNY:

Ideas children expressed:
Noah's wife was called Joan of Ark.
The fifth commandment is humor thy father and mother.
Lot's wife was a pillar of salt by day, but a ball of
fire by night.
Christians have only one wife. That's called monotony.

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. What did Esau sell to Jacob in payment for bread and
lentil stew?

A. his birthright

Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field,
and he was weary. And Esau said to Jacob, "Please feed me
with that same red stew, for I am weary."

...But Jacob said, "Sell me your birthright as of this day."
And Esau said, "Look, I am about to die; so what is this
birthright to me?"

Then Jacob said, "Swear to me as of this day." So he swore
to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

Genesis 25:29-33

Both brothers were at fault; Jacob for taking advantage
of Esau in his weakened state, and Esau for valuing his
birthright so little that he would trade it for a bowl
of stew.
