Here's the Scoop...

I don't remember hearing about Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber splitting up. It makes me kind of sad. I thought that they would make it.

Naomi Watts says her split from Liev Schreiber was initially a "scary" transition.

The 48-year-old English actress broke her silence in an interview with The Daily Telegraph Australia after separating from Schreiber after two children and 11 years together.

"I feel I'm in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well," Watts said. "Those are my hopes for me and for all of us."

"I feel, whether you're famous or not, transitions are scary for anybody," she later added. "I feel like change is always scary, but that's only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go."

Watts and Schreiber have co-starred in several movies, including The Painted Veil and The Bleeder, and share two sons, 9-year-old Alexander and 7-year-old Samuel. The couple announced their split in a joint statement in September.

"Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple," the pair said.

"It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship," they added. "While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy."

Watts showed her support for Schreiber in October by attending the opening of his Broadway play Les Liasons Dangereuses. She will star on the new Netflix series Gypsy and also appear in Showtime's revival of Twin Peaks.

I hope that they can work it out. I like those two.

Be Well,
Steve

Cher, Andy Garcia, other celebrities react to Fidel Castro's death
Singer-actress Cher and actor Andy Garcia are speaking out about the weekend death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Castro died Friday night at the age of 90.

"Fidel Castro Was a Murderous Dictator..He's Dead. Like ALL Strong-Man Despots,He Let His Ppl Suffer & Die Because Of His Insane Ego," Cher tweeted.

Garcia, who was born in Cuba, issued a longer statement to the entertainment industry trade newspaper Variety.

"It is necessary for me to express the deep sorrow that I feel for all the Cuban people both inside and outside of Cuba that have suffered the atrocities and repression caused by Fidel Castro and his totalitarian regime," Garcia wrote.

"The promises of his so-called revolution of pluralism and democracy, were and continue to be a false promise and a betrayal of all basic human rights," he continued. "The executions, persecution and imprisonment of political dissidents and the LGBT community, denial of free press, elections and religious freedoms, continue to be his legacy. He claimed that history would absolve him, but it can also condemn him."

Comedian Patton Oswalt and television personality Billy Eichner joked about the historic event on social media.

"Florence Henderson and now Fidel Castro. Weird how the stars of I LOVE LUCY passed away so close together," Oswalt tweeted.

"RIP to everyone's favorite television mom, Fidel Castro," read Eichner's post.
